little daft here and may have missed out..... take it that bad boy started out as a VP? came out friggin’ scrumptious!....
Hey Chucky..
I got this one in trade with the intention of refinishing in Dakota Red.
It was so new that the truss rod had never been adjusted.
It’s still a VP..just has a new set of clothes. Cheers!

Did you do much surface prep to factory white? What type of paint did you use?

Asking for a friend
I sanded it down to the factory primer to give it enough roughage for the Nitro to stick to. Usually its not an issue to put nitro over Poly. If I had the time to do it again I probably would use a heat gun and strip it to the wood and use nitro primer. The paint came from ReRanch. The clearcoat is McFaddens..Neck through Basses are always a little bit more of a PITA..With a bolt on you can separate the parts.
Also..on my next one I'll be using nitro primer before I use color for a better stick.

As long as KaraQ doesn't beat my butt on a broken Ebay VP, I'll be doing one in Lake Placid Blue in the future...Used prices on the Vintage Pro Thunderbird remain high. If you can find them at all.

I was over-ruled when I suggested naming my daughter April. With middle name Mae-June...
We have helped several Burmese families move and settle in the US. It's funny how they name some of their kids. May-June, Monday Tu, Louisville (little girl), I know I've forgetting a few.... Talk about happy to be here. When one younger woman finally received her citizenship she was so excited and grateful. Threw a big party for family and friends and gave each money as a gift! All are thankful for the help and being here, since they know what a crappy place to live actually looks like.
