Thunderbird Club

Would if such a thing existed near me. We used to have a nice OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) store nearby with employees who actually helped customers. Sears bought the chain and they remained pretty good. Then Lowe’s bought them and closed them within a couple of years. Now we have three HDs all within 3-4 miles and a Lowe’s. I don’t even consider Harbor Freight, which we have 2 within 5 miles, a hardware store. Modern America.

My kids told me that this "was me" at Home Depot/Lowes etc.

I built houses for a couple of years and have some knowledge, albeit often times outdated now....

You need to move to Kentucky. We have real hardware stores (where you can hang out), and you get to keep more of what your earned, (I could play through your Mesa), the weather is worse.

Used them with great success about a year and a half ago.

@PillO, sounds like you have an open invitation to come to sunny SoCal and visit MCF and I. And if by some bizarre chance your nerve issue should flare up again while you're here (;)) I'm sure MCF and I could help you find a good doctor or surgeon.

Of course the down side is that your physical therapy needs would dictate extended playing on all seven of my TBirds and any of the other fifty basses and guitars I own as well as MCF's excellent selection of birds. Heck, I'd bet that even @D.M.N. might let you swing by for a quick strum on some of his neat stuff, or better yet, sit in on a recording session or attend a gig.

Get better soon.
It's really nice of you guys offering PillO a place to stay if he visits. I have to say, when he visited here it took weeks to find and clean up all the watermelon seeds.... You've been warned.:D

[OK, that was fake news. PillO has never stayed with us. If he did and seeds were an issue it would just mean a good time was had by all.]

It is the cold fried chicken that is the most accurate sign of too much fun you don't remember.

Harbor's good for non-critical items yer gonna use once or twice and ya don't really care if it breaks. I got a pretty decent cowbell for ~$2.

I much prefer to go to a locally owned hardware store. Generally you get greeted near the door and are escorted to what you need, then they generally pull it out for you.

A guy at church used to work at Walmart maybe 10 yrs ago. He mentioned how much electronics is ripped off every month and it was astounding. We all pay for those getting what they think they are entitled to.

One of many reasons I don't shop there unless there is no other choice.
