Thunderbird Club

Not just you. Unless you get one of the old timer part-time guys who have hung up their tool belt, you’re on your own at HD. Since they’re mostly self serve checkout, you never talk to an employee. And the one by us has a lot of shoplifters. Walk in, open the package, put it in a pocket walk out. I’ve seen it told an employee and they shrig their shoulders.
I much prefer to go to a locally owned hardware store. Generally you get greeted near the door and are escorted to what you need, then they generally pull it out for you.

A guy at church used to work at Walmart maybe 10 yrs ago. He mentioned how much electronics is ripped off every month and it was astounding. We all pay for those getting what they think they are entitled to.

Would if such a thing existed near me. We used to have a nice OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) store nearby with employees who actually helped customers. Sears bought the chain and they remained pretty good. Then Lowe’s bought them and closed them within a couple of years. Now we have three HDs all within 3-4 miles and a Lowe’s. I don’t even consider Harbor Freight, which we have 2 within 5 miles, a hardware store. Modern America.

Hey gang, heard about what happened with the fire and such.
Glad we are back.

And what's all this about Gibson buying out Mesa?
Not sure i like that one bit.

I’m a Mesa endorser. Contacted my rep to see what’s up and do I still have my endorsement deal? He said nothing has changed and they’re just going to benefit from better distribution. I did notice the endorsement price seems to have gone up a bit.

I love my Mesa amp and cab. And Thunderbirds sound awesome through it.

Founder Randall Smith is 75. He owned a valuable company that he wanted to continue and grow. He likely cashed out with a nice payday and will stay on until he’s ready to retire. Less stress. He built a great company and deserves to wind down. I think Plaid is right; win/win.

Cool rig! I’m currently torn between the Mesa TT800 and the WD800. The TT is appealing because of the 2 channel thing as most of my gigs require upright and electric.

Given potential long-term complications, I hope you find and consider options for remedy sooner than the "wisdom" of your leaders seems to allow. (They mean well and ultimately know what's best... [no emoji for what I'm thinking). Very good hand surgeons here if you want to escape to get it taken care of. They even did the first hand transplant years ago. Hopefully you won't need that.
Actually, I have a very good plastic surgeon, and that is the skill set I am looking for. Heck, I went to see this guy and said "make me beautiful" and this is the result:

So, I can't go wrong!

Look up Southern California Orthopedic Institute. They have a few locations throughout SoCal. And several good surgeons in all specialties. Let us know when you’re coming.
I actually have very good surgeons here. And I know the critical key words to get my way in the healthcare world. I am a very effective complainer. When you know the secret code, you can jump the line .

Used them with great success about a year and a half ago.

@PillO, sounds like you have an open invitation to come to sunny SoCal and visit MCF and I. And if by some bizarre chance your nerve issue should flare up again while you're here (;)) I'm sure MCF and I could help you find a good doctor or surgeon.

Of course the down side is that your physical therapy needs would dictate extended playing on all seven of my TBirds and any of the other fifty basses and guitars I own as well as MCF's excellent selection of birds. Heck, I'd bet that even @D.M.N. might let you swing by for a quick strum on some of his neat stuff, or better yet, sit in on a recording session or attend a gig.

Get better soon.
Hey, you guys are great. As things open up again and business travels resume, I will be in touch as I visit various parts of the world.

Thanks. I took a long time deciding on what to get as my final amp purchase. GK, Berg, Aguilar, Genzler; hard decisions in the higher end “production line” amps. I wasn’t looking at boutique products. The tube pre-amp and the Boogie channel designed to recall the 400, 400+ sold me. Before the TT was announced, I’d decided to get a WD800 after giving it a go through the 4x10 Subway when the Hollywood store was still open. Both are good choices. I think the two channels in the TT offer more versatility. And if your playing an upright in the same set as the electric.
