:hyper: glad we're back! I missed you guys :(

While we were on "vacation" I managed to actually do something semi-productive for my Classic Pro :jawdrop: ....

It turned out not bad (definitely not perfect), imo, for my first-ish time.... :cautious:

Looks great!
Like most things in life, the job can be a snap with the right tools or a total PITA with the wrong ones.

That's one o' those things that even tho no one else sees it, gives you a little joy in knowing it's there-and you do'd it.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, along comes something else...

That looks NASTY!
I don't think I could rock it without a full blown pressurized HazMat suit and gloves. I can't imagine the look on the store owners face when the owner tried to sell it to them.:vomit::confused:o_O
Prolly inspired by the ZZTOP instruments, but 'on the cheap'. Ick!
On another note, my 67 NR went in the shop 3/20. Knew there'd be at least a 10 day wait b4 they got to it. Not done yet. Hopefully, soon.

Turns out I'm not just wasting time here, I really missed this place and ya'll. Checked out the other bass sites, didn't find one I'd revisit.
On another note, first practice last night, first time playing this, OMG, 8 lbs 5 ozs of OMG!!! I've decided roasted maple and mahogany is THE key. Sorry for the poor photo, it was last second:

Hats off to all the Talkbass crew members that worked hard to bring the site back up! I missed all the fun and insightful banter this club and talkbass in general provides free of charge. While down I realized that Talkbass is apparently a more important part of my daily routine than I thought. With that in mind, I think I'll finally take the plunge and become a paying member of the community.
Until then (and even after) THUNDERBIRDS RULE!
And it seems to be loading lightning fast.

Things went north;) just as I was trying to reply...
Sometimes I won't even listen to a new song we are doing just to not naturally fall into repeating what the original player did. It's nice in that we get to make a song ours that way. Many times I like our version better than the original. Not that we're better players, just like what we did on the song better. Easier to do in a church setting. Change and classic rock song too much and people roll their eyes. Like I did when I heard John Mayer redo a Tom Petty song. I am up for trying new things and rearranging music, but sometimes you should just not. Of course, when you're famous do you feel more freedom to do things that sound awful because people will still think they sound good.

I think the record is stuck...

I respectfully disagree. Want!

Probably want to steam clean it though.
