glad we're back! I missed you guys
While we were on "vacation" I managed to actually do something semi-productive for my Classic Pro....

It turned out not bad (definitely not perfect), imo, for my first-ish time....![]()
Man am I glad we are back!!!
Turned out great Kara!!!
When I had my Epi NR refinished and had the custom pickguard made, the guy used the extra material to make a control cavity cover. He didn't even charge me for it!

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, along comes something else...

That looks NASTY!
I don't think I could rock it without a full blown pressurized HazMat suit and gloves. I can't imagine the look on the store owners face when the owner tried to sell it to them.![]()
I respectfully disagree. Want!
Probably want to steam clean it though.
Yeah the radii look off. That’s always the tricky part in making a control cover that sits in a cavity. Your red one is much better. It's the one that came with it, but not original to the bass. I believe it to be a stock one for a bolt-on Epiphone, because of the four screw-holes (instead of 5) & slightly different shape.
I used the ones from my Pro 5 & VP for the pattern.
I’ve done a few with vinyl records:That looks great!
I may try again for some of my other 'birds, just for practice/fun? - it's kind of time consuming to do by hand, but I didn't hate the process.
Aged Horse seems to be ok with it. He says they’ll run separately in Petaluma as usual. And he ain’t going anywhere. It isn’t like 7ender who bought amp companies to kill off competition.Hey gang, heard about what happened with the fire and such.
Glad we are back.
And what's all this about Gibson buying out Mesa?
Not sure i like that one bit.
Best $700 bass on the planet. That’s the regular street price in the US.What do you think, no year given?
Assuming you can find one, that is.Pretty much the standard price.

Could work out well for both.Hey gang, heard about what happened with the fire and such.
Glad we are back.

Seems to me Gibson could use a tie-in with a decent amp. They haven't made anything actually usable this century.Aged Horse seems to be ok with it. @JJR58 you are a bit behind on musical instrument news...Seems to me Gibson could use a tie-in with a decent amp. They haven't made anything actually usable this century.
I say 'decent' as I have no experience with MESA. Not a slam.

Glad to be back in touch! What a terrible week it has been!
For days I had nothing to do but visit the L&M and Sweetwater websites and see if the non-reverse Thunderbirds are listed. Then endlessly refresh the page just in case they had just been put online.
Here in Ontario, we have been locked down harder because <redacted for very strong language>.
And through all of this, I have been unable to practice.
Last week I pinched a nerve in my left arm. I had previously had a nerve impingement in my right arm; it caused pain and tingling; I had surgical release. The plastic surgeon was awesome - I was unable to play the day of surgery and the day after but was back on it the third day.
This one is much worse than the previous. It is accompanied by very significant weakness in my hand. It is bad enough that when typing, although I hit keys with my left hand, I can't always depress the letter enough to register the keystroke (I suppose I will get better at proof-reading). That means it needs repairing soon, else muscle wasting sets in. And in the wisdom of our politicians, all elective surgery is to be cancelled. I am worried now that I may not get surgery in time to preserve function in my hand.
I missed this place! You are all awesome.
I so want my new NR THUNDERBIRD right now...
Unfortunately, anything not emergency is elective. This includes such things as cancer surgeries...Glad to be back in touch!
Hopefully you can get that nerve taken care of soon. It doesn’t sound “elective” to me.
We’re not “locked down”, but have increased restrictions again.

Sorry to hear about the Canucks... 20 players...

Patience my friend. The NRs likely aren’t shipping until June. I’d rather they take their time and do them right. What a terrible week it has been!
