Thunderbird Club

Dude! Hang up your jacket properly!

Egad I'm channeling my mother...

It's Frank's, he willingly rubs my tired feet, I let him leave his coat there = trade offs.

Thunderbird on!

I so want one of those!

I'd like to forget much of the time from 77-83. The stupid and wasted years.
Dang brother, we musta been living in parallel universes. Those are the exact "Lost" years of my life. From late 77 to early 83 everything happened so fast and I was living so wild, on (if not over) the edge and out of control it's all just a blur. During that 5 year period I graduated from high school, partied 24/7, got engaged four times, married twice, divorced once, had two kids, got my first college degree and spent more time than I can remember in a drug or alcohol induced stupor. Fortunately, I snapped out of self destruction mode in late 83 when I met my second wife. Been a responsible contributing adult ever since. But I sure regret the time and energy and brain cells that I needlessly wasted.

can you send a pic or advise on the location of said number? can't seem to find a number anywhere on mine..
Should be stamp or decal (not pressed into the wood like Gibby) on the back of the headstock. I haven't looked, but you might be able to date the pots as well.

That’s good. You’re just a kid Kara. I started 6th grade in ‘69.
I started the 6th in 71.
But I started the 4th twice! Dad worked for IBM (stands for I've Been Moved). I attended 3 different schools in two different states in that period and found out the hard way that California Schools at the time didn't teach nearly what was expected of Colorado students.

Think if we'd had phone cameras to record our antics back then.(statutes of limitations woulda expired by now)
One of the blessings I hold dear is the dumb luck I had in never having any photo or video evidence (that I'm aware of) highlighting the magnitude of my stupidity. Point stressed to my children - there's a lot to be said for keeping a small social media footprint.

I actually looked something up recently to determine if it was safe to ever mention...
LOL - Unfortunately Google recorded your search session and has informed the Feds.

So I've noted that the Goth Thunderbird is loud and bass-forward. Is that pretty normal? Maybe that's the "thunder" part?
Yes, mine is voiced deeper and darker than my other Thunderbirds. The Goth pickups are incredibly overwound (around 11K ohms vs 4 to 5K of many Humbuckers) IIRC. I took mine a step further and installed a .022uf tone cap vs the stock .068uf cap and she really opened up nicely. Big increase in volume, more articulate, less muffled, more focused deep end.
