Very true. The stories we could all tell!but FUN.....
(PillO doesn't need to recount them since he regularly posts pics of his wild days. Which apparently are ongoing.)

Well said. Those years were among the best for me. College, concerts, first real job, carefree times before law school and real responsibility.
Age and that lack thereof are both underrated. What matters is you play a Thunderbird(s) and contribute to the nonsense mixed with useful information that goes on here!Sometimes you guys are pretty good at making me feel less old....I started 6th grade in '83![]()

On some things....Think if we'd had phone cameras to record our antics back then.(statutes of limitations woulda expired by now)
The Alford plea is our friend.I am very happy there is no official record of some things that may or may not have happened.
Had you grown up here I'd swear we ran around together!I so want one of those!
Dang brother, we musta been living in parallel universes. Those are the exact "Lost" years of my life. From late 77 to early 83 everything happened so fast and I was living so wild, on (if not over) the edge and out of control it's all just a blur. During that 5 year period I graduated from high school, partied 24/7, got engaged four times, married twice, divorced once, had two kids, got my first college degree and spent more time than I can remember in a drug or alcohol induced stupor. Fortunately, I snapped out of self destruction mode in late 83 when I met my second wife. Been a responsible contributing adult ever since. But I sure regret the time and energy and brain cells that I needlessly wasted.
It's the look, NR just does nothing for me. Love the feel and sound of my Epi T-Bird VPs, so if it ain't broke...Have you had or played one or is it the look that's off-putting?
Some things google doesn’t know about!I so want one of those!

Should be stamp or decal (not pressed into the wood like Gibby) on the back of the headstock. I haven't looked, but you might be able to date the pots as well.
I started the 6th in 71.
But I started the 4th twice! Dad worked for IBM (stands for I've Been Moved). I attended 3 different schools in two different states in that period and found out the hard way that California Schools at the time didn't teach nearly what was expected of Colorado students.
One of the blessings I hold dear is the dumb luck I had in never having any photo or video evidence (that I'm aware of) highlighting the magnitude of my stupidity. Point stressed to my children - there's a lot to be said for keeping a small social media footprint.
LOL - Unfortunately Google recorded your search session and has informed the Feds.
Very true. The stories we could all tell! Some of it really was fun with no harm done, but as I've matured I regret some of my decisions during those times.

I know that you mean. The good thing is we made it and others can be helped by our life experiences, good or bad.i started 6th grade in 66. Fittingly ominous. We moved cross country in November and life got weird. My crazy years were off and on from 67 to 75. Some of it still boggles my mind.
Great plan!Or, and here me out here, another similar plan would be - refinish the `Bird on the wall in Pelham Blue and buy one of the new Gibson NR Thunderbirds in PB.
IMO it depends on the strings. I’m using Black Beauties right now which tames it a bit and evens it out. For real thunder, replace the cap. Ask @GBassNorth about it.So I've noted that the Goth Thunderbird is loud and bass-forward. Is that pretty normal? Maybe that's the "thunder" part?
Keep quiet.I actually looked something up recently to determine if it was safe to ever mention...
Already using the BBs, that's my favorite roundwound! Does the capacitor mod have much effect with the tone wide open?IMO it depends on the strings. I’m using Black Beauties right now which tames it a bit and evens it out. For real thunder, replace the cap. Ask @GBassNorth about it.
As long as a middle aged man or woman doesn’t come knocking on your door saying “hi Daddy,” you’re probably good. Some things google doesn’t know about!
See @GBassNorth ‘s post above. He can fill you in on where to find his posts about the experiments he did with different caps on his Goth. Lots of good info.Already using the BBs, that's my favorite roundwound! Does the capacitor mod have much effect with the tone wide open?
Looks great! Seems like it could use some soft surfaces to cut down on reflections, depending how loud you get.Been spending the last few days uplifting my little paradise...

Likewise. If there had been pix or vids, they'da been deleted. To protect the innocent, ya know.
