Thanks! Dude can sing ANYTHING...we’ll pick a song on the fly that he’s never sang before and he looks up the lyrics on his iPad and away he goes....crazy..he has a Frank Sinatra big band he gigs with as well and they play some top venues...great guy.
Good sounds. Question about the singer: can you understand him when he talks? I can understand Ozzie when he sings, but talking? o_O

NBD!
Alpine White Epi VP delivered today!
Needs a full setup (A string sounds a bit wonky), to get it sounding as good as my ebony and ‘burst VP’s, but happy to have her...

Congrats!
I had to do a full setup on my white Epi VP when it arrived.
I believe AMS just ships them straight out the door without even looking at them.
I installed a set of nickel Schaller strap locks, lowered the bridge, set the intonation with a strobe tuner, did a quarter turn on the truss rod to straighten the neck a little more & put on a set of D'Addario stainless steel rounds.
It plays & sounds fantastic now.:bassist:
Enjoy!

There is a country/rockabilly band here and the bass-player was* like that. He could sing Willie, Merle, Ray Price - just about any classic country song. During the break I asked he sang a certain early '60s Willie song "Hello Walls" - he said not for a while. When they got back on the stage, he looked up the lyrics on his iPad and they played it like it was Willie himself! Totally pro. Love the way the bass sounds on this recording.

My current group can do almost any song we're asked for-as an instrumental. Lotta songs only work with the lyrics. As soon as a coupla financial things I have going are resolved, I wanna get an iPad for exactly that reason.
A while back on a gig we no longer do(place closed), a guy asked me if we could do Unchained Melody[we never had]. I gave him our standard answer: "we haven't done that one for awhile, but we'll see what we can do". I happen to know the lyrics. I turned to the 2 guitarists and asked can youse guys do Unchained Melody in-just a sec(hunt for a key..nope..nope.. ah, G)-G? Yup. Turned out it was the couple's anniversary and U M was their first dance at the wedding. Got a nice tip outta that and added a song to our 'repertwah'.

For sure, I used to slag certain music/musicians but for better or worse I wouldn't be aware of it/them if it wasn't popular enough to sell en mass. I still share my opinions when such music/band/artist is brought up but try to be more objective of why they became/are what they are.
I was recently asked what my favorite band was. Yeah, right. How does anybody answer that question? And then what was my favorite kind of music. Yeah. Right. Another unanswerable question.

My ebony and sunburst both came from Sweetwater, and were perfect..no setup needed. The Alpine White came from K & S Music in Pennsylvania...I don't think they did much of a setup, but better than nothing?

I changed out the pickguard, put on black knobs w/ chrome pointer washers, TI Jazz Flat strings, and I stopped used Schallers and now use Loxx straplocks...much lower profile and "swivels" better

I am very happy with my Micro POG, which is an Octave pedal, and have 3 setting that work. I would like another flavor of effect though. I'm looking at phasers but will do my due diligence.

May I suggest the Source Audio Lunar Phaser?
Nothing fancy - just deep, rich phasing.
Sounds great on guitar too!

I was playing roots country for a while and then discovered I love pre-longhair Willie Nelson. His timing is hard to emulate because he’s so fluid.

I don't listen to a lot of CW but I do like the old Willie Nelson. There's a couple of current female CW/Blues singers that I do like a lot...
