Thunderbird Club

I'm actually shooting this for @Instagator, it's a pickguard that I made from some sheet styrene. Using the original as a template I scored and broke the styrene, rounded the edges, drilled and countersink for the screw holes. After airbrushing a base coat of silver primer it was given a couple coats of purple enamel which I let harden for a few days. I laid the Bird design on a lightbox with some very thin styrene over the top, I then laid masking tape on top of that and cut the design out of the tape and arranged it on the pickguard. To finish it was given several coats of white followed by 3-4 coats of clear gloss lacquer.
Glenn, drop me a PM with your email and I'll send you the original

Happy Thunderbird Thursday

Pic #3 is freakin hot!

I was due for new headphones for paddling etc. and picked up a set of these:

The sound is fantastic. Very clear bottom end and seem to have full range compared to other earbuds I've used.
This is one set I have that I love. Not bluetooth, but I don't like the extra voices in my head that get picked up from outerspace.

I have one bass strung BEAD. (my Factorbird fretless) I have made two 5-string basses (for sale) but I don't play a fiver or own one otherwise. I like it as a fretless but I just don't have that much need for a B-string.
Then I'm in good company. I used the B some when I have a 5er, but not enough to keep a 5er. I have an octave pedal--now every bass can be a 5er!

^^^After Many Moons in pieces, it breathes new life. I had a spark of artistic creativity & painted the "dead" tree complete with branches & roots. Sealed in Gloss, wired new Deep Sixx Epiphone Blackbird pickups to the single killswitch, Fret levelled, crowned & polished. & it plays like a dream. I honestly forgot how great this bass was to play - & am glad i had gotten it all done before my band's first album recording in mid december of 2020. Album is close to done & will be ready for release sometime this year (hoping/aiming).

I do need to tweak my other home built bigger spector/b.c.rich inspired Torched thunderbird, & that will also be in playing order.
LOVE the paint job!

The cat and I listening to some Ace on Thunderbird Thursday.

I wore that album out when it was released. Still enjoy it.

Hey man good to see you again! Bird looks great and looking forward to seeing you build.

I sure hope you keep us in the loop for this one too. must see pictures for sure.

Most definitely - it'll be sometime before i get into that one, but surely for Fall it'll be resolved.

LOVE the paint job!

Thanks! It had been a long while since i had some painting/drawing spark, & it felt good to let go in this piece.

It's good to be back! Thanks :) definitely, shameless plug if anyone wishes to follow my build journeys into everything bass/guitar related - Click There's a lot, from the last six years & going.

I find it at least interesting that 5'rs are so popular. I personally just don't need one to do what I need to do.

AHEM!

Two weeks in a row @KaraQ posts a Thunderbird Thursday picture that includes the inadvertent inclusion of her pussy on a practice amp.

To keep things equal, here is my cock.

And gratuitous red JC for @GBassNorth

Very nice! But the cat in a pic with the Thunderbird will really seal the deal.

Cat?

Does one that's annoyed that you interrupted his grooming time  to take his pic count?
