Thunderbird Club

When I got my VP, I could see the router marks on the edge of the TRC.
So I grabbed some sandpaper and smoothed things out, followed by Brasso to polish it. But then I got some on the front. When I wiped it, it took off some of the EPI logo.
I’m going to replace it with a foil decal.

Well, here is an ad to send your benefactor.

Gibson Thunderbird Bass, Vintage Sunburst | Demo | Gibson Demo Shop | Reverb

I doubt you will see one for any less, and it is direct from Gibson. For whatever that is worth.

This flips my wig, not that I would be able to play it:

Crap, it’s even in Nashville...I might have to go check it out. Been talking to a few folks about maybe getting a Gibson endorsement. I’m with Mesa, so...
I’ve never heard a 2015, but I know I love those EB pickups, so I may go play it

that awesome, no joke…..worst neck dive offender of my bunch but the tone makes it ok…
My Greco is a neck diving machine. Sounds nice though :) It sounds so much like my Fano I fear one of them may have to go

Say it not nicely then. You are among friends.

My recent larger individual story happened at a show my son played before the shutdown. They needed a merch-girl, and my son volunteered me. It was actually kinda fun anyway and I didn't mind. About halfway through, a rotund young woman wearing a tube top and tight shorts started dancing around in front of the merch table. I wasn't paying all that much attention until she came right in front of the table and was dancing while looking right at me. Once she got my attention, she pulled down her tube top and put on a show. I completely cracked up. There were others who would have been more aesthetic, but her enthusiasm made up for a lot. She was laughing pretty hard, too. Beats me what that was all about. I figured if you were going to flash anybody, it would be the band. Shows what I know.

Chicks dig Alfred E.

I really like that as well. I'm a sucker for 335s and the like. I think they tend to sound better than Les Pauls. :nailbiting: Yes I just said that. They just don't look all that cool for rock. But I'm not sure about the P94 PUs on this one. I know I've never (poorly) played a guitar with them so I'm not sure what they sound like. But other than that, I love it!

It's date night and I need another Manhatten....

From a show at Seattle's King Cat Theater....

That tiny drink thing was always troublesome and a pain when I drank. Try two of these if you prefer cocktails...

Add some peach slices and you're off to the races.
If you like the look you would have to drink them before the peaches dissolve. Which wouldn't be very long.

(Warning: Each jar is not one drink unless you have a crazy high alcohol tolerance and a stomach of steel.)

Setup for tonight's gig at Ft. Pierce American Legion. 1 Guitar(second guitarist couldn't make it-longish story), drums, me. 67 THUNDERBIRD>Rumble 100. Yamaha powered mixer>JBL EON One PA.

EDIT: No 'Live' shot since drummer took pic.

So the 100 cuts the gig? Wow. Do you get clarity out of it? Or is it just low mids/ bass? Just want to know. I’m considering a 200 for my small gigs.

She didn't look very different from that picture. Ot maybe she was a little rounder in the abdomen. Her belly was free all night. Her breasts were free for a few minutes. She wasn't going halfway and being shy. Good for her. She was having fun.
You never think of it at the time, but you have pulled your shirt up and flashed back. It's only polite.

The TRC on my VP doesn't sit flush. Maybe someday I will figure out why or replace it with a more rigid one. Or not.
The TRC on my '76 bulges out in the middle some (like me). Almost as if the headstock shrunk a little. Which I suppose is pretty likely at times. Or may have been a quick slap it on and get it out the door thing.

At least you have a little bit of room this time. But you should be on the other side of the drums so you can hit cymbals with the headstock.

Actually did that once by accident right on time and looked like I planned it. Other times didn't look planned....

We are here to enable. And it is a different beast. It is a little darker sounding than an EB with the same pickups, but it has a similar chameleon-like quality. Thinderbirds are versatile, but those are a whole 'nother kind of versatile. Mine is absurdly light and well balanced to go with everything else.

Life and everything is all about the f-holes. Hollow and semi-hollow Gibson and Gretsch guitars look the part for everything. And that is the final, irrefutable truth!
