Thunderbird Club

Yeah, I hear you. I can no longer take advil/aleve etc. I was taking it daily for years to deal with pain that needed surgical correction and it has reduced my kidney function, so no more. Now I use tylenol and steroid injections in the worst joints.
Glad you laid off the Advil. The possibility of Dialysis is something to be avoided at all cost.

A lot of people think OTC NSAIDs and other common pain relievers are completely safe with no side effects because you can buy them off the shelf at the grocery/drug store. That's why it's important if taking something all the time your doctor knows it and monitors the effects with regular lab work.
Yes indeed. All things in moderation. Except Thunderbirds, of course.

Alright, your Grace... Lol, we'll sit down over a few and compare notes someday. You'll feel better in no time!!

Not that it's a contest, but yeah.......How much time/space do we have here. :D

Played out yesterday for the first time since the start of Pandemonium, a small gathering at a marina in Warwick RI. This little monster brought them the Thunder we were otherwise spared on Saturday...

Glad you got to play out!

I had SWR 350 years ago. I liked it but with my cabs at the time it was too glassy sounding and harsh sounding. But I wouldn't mind playing one again.

Don't know how different the red face might be, but with the Goliath-II I'm getting a nice hefty, punchy bloom out of mine.
Cabs are a huge difference though.

I hear you. I'm kind of to the point now that I think it's safe to say cabs may have more impact on tone than a head. I like a big sound and one speaker will work, but doesn't really cut it for me, so I'll likely never buy a single driver cab again.

I'm kinda wanting one of those to go with my SWR cab........ As if I don't already have too many other things to spend money on...

For the very reason I dig this cab so much.

I’d imagine they’ve changed a lot in the last 350 years.:D

Lots of Berg love here. I’ll be buried with my HT322.

Specifically the corner of 1st and Berry from the looks of it. ;)
Cool pic by the way, would make a great album cover.

I have been thinking of doing a solo Americana record...
I’ve been running a Berg HDN212 for a couple months. It’s a really nice cab, especially on upright, though I find it a tiny bit shy in the deep lows, but that could be the new Mesa TT800 amp. I have tomorrow off, so maybe I’ll drag the rig into the house and a/b the TT800 vs my Mesa M9 through the Berg

I haven’t tried the Berg 212 or the Mesa amps so can’t really comment on that mix. However, I own a HT322 that is probably the best medium sized stage amp I’ve ever heard (unfortunately a horrible form factor, a real PITA to move). I also own a Berg NV610 that walked all over my ampeg fridge and is still the best big rig cab I’ve owned, plus unlike the 322 it’s in a fantastic easy load in/out form factor. A Berg that I almost bought and am still kicking myself for passing on is the NV215, possibly the best sounding big rig I’ve ever played through (paired it with an Aggie DB750 head, also tried it with an Ampeg SVT VR, and a Carvin B1500). Oh what I’d give to be on stage with a NV215 located stage right and one on stage left, better be a big venue.

I’d imagine you have a real challenge finding the best rig to handle both upright bass and humbucker equipped bass guitars in any given set. I don’t know much about upright amplification, cabs or signal chains but it seems like they might have very different needs from your Tbirds.

Fwiw, I heard a phone recording of us at that marina gig from across the yard, and the bass sounds came through solid and punchy. I really like what that little rig does.
It's an 8 ohm cab, so I used a
