the case had that sticker too, but I took it off (but did not throw in the garbage), so I can glue it back. Is the made in Canada a good thing? It says made in Canada inside the case too.

You took that sticker off? Oh no, I'm sure there is some regulation in Canada that forbids that defacement!

It's a good thing. Mine is very well made. Heavy, but well made. So heavy I don't use another case to carry all my thunderbirds (one at at time).

Says a lot about anticipation when you get excited about the bill. I guess it’s kind of a Pavlov dog thing, you hear the bell ring and know that shipping follows shortly. Can’t wait to see it!

A question for the club - There’s a lot of nice birds here and even a number many of us have let go. What percent of your bird purchases would you guess were brand new store bought factory fresh birds? I’m betting there’s a lot of used buyers here, myself included. I’ve only ever bought one new one, a Goth, so far about 10% of my Tbird purchases.

I have never bought a new Thunderbird. I have only bought one new bass (my 7ender Precision) one new guitar (an Ibanez 335 clone that I eventually gave to my brother), and one new drum kit (the little Ludwig Breakbeats kit that's an awesome gigging kit).

If you count building them out of parts, then the P-Bird and Tele-Bird were assembled out of mostly new parts.

I have never bought a new Thunderbird. The closest was the '15, which was about six months old when I got it.

Never bought a new Bird. The closest would be the white VP which was supposed to be used, but I think is must have been a demo--or someone played it 30 minutes and figured it wasn't for them and returned it. So 0 for 5 were new. Hopefully it will be 0 for 6 once someone finds a NR isn't for them! One day, not now.

None, really.....but the VP was technically new, still in the factory box/plastic, just damaged in shipping.

The other 5....used, pretty used, very used, etc.

I suspect that the desire was always there, but supply was short. With the offering of a batch of new NRs, the lust could be fully expressed.

For me, I've always loved the look but never had the chance to buy one. I've never even had a chance to play one. That may change my mind. A vintage NR the one bass I'd love to find, but for the foreseeable future I can't see paying vintage $$$.

Yeah, like what was written.. always liked the look, never expect to ever own a vintage model. After my Reverse became my number one, I wanted a second, and the NR reissue seems like a nice way to get there.

Of my current seven, the '15 was brand new. The Goth was new old stock. The other five were used. The '13 NR and the '11 Short Scale from TB, the VP and Pelham Blue Epi from Reverb and the Silverburst through other arrangements.

A lot of us have been on about then on here since at least 2017. For me, it's the comfortable and different looking form factor. But I'm just as hooked on Reverses for the same reasons. Only Will seems to be the one who is totally uninterested.

And I was sorta the opposite. 'Til I played a reverse. Felt rather familiar.
At this stage of my life, I don't "need"/can't afford another bass. Unless the bookings pick up. A lot.
