Kira was a great pick player.I like Black Flag too. Particularly the Kira Roessler years. Dead Kennedys not so much.
Love the bass line for The Bars!

I'm not sure I ever liked any bands back then where the guys used much hair spray, mousse or a curling iron.... Can't think of a one!Ha! Hair bands always just seemed a gateway for guys who liked guys but were afraid to admit it.....
At the risk of being redundant(or repeating myself), I didn't give the slightest eff what any of these guys looked like. In fact their 'look' detracted from their music-to me. All I gave a ratz@$$ about was/is the sound(s).Ha! Hair bands always just seemed a gateway for guys who liked guys but were afraid to admit it.....
I hate Motorhead as much as I hate Silversun Pickups.
But seriously... who told Lemmy he could sing?
Cinderella were all dudes with hair and makeup that would make the ladies swoon... they were the epitome of the term hair band.

That wasn't much of a rant...One thing about 'shredding' is that at least some of the notes "fit"...Maybe.
<GOF rant: "whatever happened to melodies?"-end rant>
Lemmy sings every bit as well as I do.But seriously... who told Lemmy he could sing?
Love Cinderella, they may have started as an east coast hair band, but they were much more blues influenced and later albums certainly showed that, I'm an unashamed fan.
Here's Tom and the band live, no BS, note Erik Brittingham's ' 60s Thunderbird!
Brevity is the soul of wit. That wasn't much of a rant...
I am a DollyRots fan. Pop-punk is a fun genre and reasonably radio friendly.Liked Cinderella's sound, didn't GAS what they looked like. Did care what Vixen looked like.
Sorta wondering why there's not more love for Kelly Ogden(Dollyrots):

One of my favorite expressions. Along with "same difference".Lemmy sings better than I do.
OK, that's more of a definite maybe.

How so?I have to agree with you 100% there.Nor do I like the sound of his bass on anything I've heard. But we're going to get sidetracked.
50-105Out of interest, what string gauges are folks running ( on a regular Gibson T-bird )?
I've been using 40-100's for years but fancy putting a heavier set on for a touch more tension.
Wondering if I could get away with 45-110 without having to file the nut?
