I think Halford came out not long after he dropped a Harley on himself on stage in Toronto.
Didn't Richie Kotzen get kicked out of Poison for sleeping with the singer's wife?Ratt, Poison, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks, Def Leppard, etc... you didn't want your girlfriend on any of their tour buses or backstage.
I've only seen clips of him playing a Ric (when you could see what he was playing). I honestly never liked anything I've heard to keep listening or look for another song. I'm sure there are some decent bass tones from him along the way. Some of his bass tracks sounded like a distorted guitar and hardly like a bass. Certainly worked for them.
Currently 45-105 in D standard. In the past I have used 50-110 without filing the nut. May go back to that for D standard.
Most of the Motorhead 'songs' I've heard, the bass is pretty much buried in a wall of distortion. I s'pose it's there...

The tone you describe was actually his goal, he didn't want to sound anything like a conventional bassist - Love him or hate him, he did it his way, I'm not a huge fan, but "Ace of Spades" and the cover of Bowie's "Heroes" are pretty good in my book.
Well, vocally there was no mistaking him.

I have the same problem!
I don't consider my voice to be 'good', per se, but I have the cojones to sing in front of people, so there's that.
Yup. Works for Lemmy. I love Motorhead.
As you say, twitchy zone. In a 3 piece like Motorhead or Rush, there is a lot of space to fill up. Lemmy had his way of doing that, just as Geddy has his way.
I hate Motorhead as much as I hate Silversun Pickups.
But seriously... who told Lemmy he could sing?
I doubt Lemmy ever gave enough of a **it about other peoples opinions to ever bother asking if they thought he could sing
The thing I think most people are missing is he isn't playing it to be a bass, it needs to be thought of as the biggest rhythm guitar on the planet. If you think of it as bass, sure, it's too distorted, too many double stops, not enough groove. But he's playing rhythm guitar, if a German Blitzkrieg could be a rhythm guitar.
