I think the gold one will look great on there and I'm on the fence about its placement. The purist wants to see it in the Greco location since it's a Greco that it's going on. But my eye has a hard time with that placement and thinks the Gibson location is better visually.

I agree - the Greco location is hugging the top of the pg where the Gibson (original T-bird) location is floating with space around it.

yep, i tried to emulate the placement of the original which
looks wrong imho….because i used the JIO method (prior to reading his post) i hosed the silver one which is now off….if i use the gold one, it will be more carefully done and follow more standard placement……considering other stickers as well (such as my avatar and others)…

I'm sorry to have mis-informed you Chucky - I wasn't aware it was a transfer. The gold will look better than silver for sure. My '64 has gold knobs so everything doesn't have to be silver/chrome.

no biggie, i thought the same thing and even dunked it in warm water prior to reading your post….agree the gold will look better and the placement will be more a la Gibson…

I think I just have the most evidence so far that my cat likes when I play bass. I was just trying something out while my cat was sleeping on the couch across the room. When I started playing, she came over and lay down on something near the amp.

Our dachshund, Molly comes into the music room and lays down when music is being played as well. She never goes in there otherwise, choosing to nap alone in the mud room or the living room. If someone is in the kitchen, she'll sleep in there unless there's food being prepped or eaten, then it's full attention for anything dropped or shared.

If you've never owned a dachshund and I've had three... they are either sleeping or at attention for food. Every last one of them.

Thanks Your Majesty, I will redo the T5 VVT, I may as well play it some, besides, I think it will improve the tone, I personally find the Lull PUPs bland in the VBT configuration, certainly not what I expected. Maybe they are livelier with a pick?

Anyway, I don't buy basses as investments, but certainly don't expect the T5, Roscoe Custom SKB 3005, Dingwall SJ5XXX, or Fender CS NOS '59P to ever decrease in value, (and maybe the Carvin CS LB5f).
Edited to add '66J.

I would re wire it, this bass has Lulls wired VVT - kicks butt, I recently put some SITs on it and they seem really well suited.

Yep, Chucky has it in the correct Greco spot.

But I have to agree with you, crammed up in the corner isn’t the best look. My OCD wants to see it roughly in the middle of the pg with the top edge of the wings parallel to the center block. Of course, neither Gibson or Epiphone does it that way either, but I wouldn’t get hung up about historical accuracy, just put it where it looks best.
