I’m getting closer.

The burgundy red that was shown next to the candy apple red Mazda helped me decide that the BR is too dark for my liking.

Our Queen’s outdoor shot of the Green NR looked Gumby green to me, which I like.

Now I just need to see what the Faded PB looks like next to the previous model Gibby PB (both side by side in the same light).

That will narrow my selection down to a favorite. Then I’ll have to decide which of my current basses I’m just not using much anymore and sell it (possibly my 1979 PreEB Stingray) or more likely some of my guitar stuff (1968 blackface Super-reverb reissue and a couple of strats) since I don’t play guitar at all anymore.

I literally don’t currently have one square foot of available floor, hanger or storage space for another bass or case.

I tried to get comparison pics for you this evening but with my Iphone camera and the lighting, the new one looked more Inverness Green than faded PB. I've got a full day tomorrow so I don't know if I can get pics outside. I'll try.

Yeah, for roughly the same price. Could purchase two of my favorite color new NR Gibby basses. And in 20 years each of the Gibsons will be worth a lot more money than that custom bass on the used market.

Guess I need to buy an NR.
But which color shall I buy…

Hah! No, I don't know how it is. But I am well versed in 'lipstick' and all that it represents. (whether as an advocate or negator) Not didactically for or against it as a male understanding all of its baggage related, but... as an artist I relate to its essential iconic (historic) power (like scents/perfumes) as a purely visual/olfactory animal identifier... I'll stop short of going on - but I personally believe it is beyond "needing help" .

careful... I never attempted to buy something like that for my partner - dangerous territory... (as in, you will never get it right - never)

LOL - an interesting point to ponder. I can come home with a bottle of perfume for my wife and it’s received as if it’s flowers or chocolates. But I can’t even fathom the depths of hell I’d be in if I came home with a gift of lipstick or eye shadow or blush or foundation. I guess the perfume implies I love this scent - will you wear it for me. Maybe makeup implies you’re ugly - try this it might help. Who knows, all I know is I ain’t going there, it’s a one way street to the dog house.

I learned my lesson very early. I liked the way my aunts (dad's sister) perfume smelled and for my mom's B-day one year bought that perfume for her. Big mistake. Inner-family dynamics are not something an adolescent boy understands...
