Monsieur Dagrev’s package has landed……can’t wait to try the Cobalts…..I have cobalts on my EB, as much as I love pyramids I don't have the heart to change them.
90% as good as pyramids at half the cost...
I don't mind Rotos. Have them on two basses and thinking of getting more. Used them years ago and avoided them in the 15yrs due to the interwebs drama about them destroying frets, necks, fingers and nearby small children. Tried them again and remembered why I liked them years ago.
I liked how they sound--but after some playing my finger tips start hurting/aching. Not because they are rough, as I don't mind Rotos, so that's not it. I think it's that Plutonium 238 they use in making them.

Are you using roundwounds? I haven't even tried the cobalt rounds. Just EB extra slinkies.
Have we taught @Instagator the secret handshake yet?If Cobalt's did it, then yes indeed! I could never play them long enough to have that happen. If so, that's a solid three. Even if not, you look like you qualify!

Rotos sound so good on a Thunderbird

understand the fact that controls spacing may have been a little tight on reverse two pickup Birds but it looks a bit silly on single pickup NRs imho…..oh well, nobody’s perfect…(really just another reason to post this pic )…

That's so you can use the headstock as a roach clip.
operationally, totally agree, notice that on a 60’s NR IV the volume controls are bundled closer (clever) apart from the tone control so as to aid the player when onstage or when looking at the controls is a challenge….on a II however you got a volume and a lone-tone control (visually of course)…
