Thunderbird Club

quick update on the new to me bird, While working on a setup the bridge ferrel on the treble side poped so it has now been glued. I am currently waiting for that to set up before continuing. I have polished the frets, they really do kinda need leveling but I don't have the proper equipment to do that.

I haven’t played a rock gig in quite a while, so it was a blast to bring out my VP for the Jason Lane Band’s first show (with drums/bass) last night at a block party in North Vancouver. The trees you can see behind us in the pic are huge and overhang the road forming a natural amphitheatre shape.
Guitars are tuned down 1/2 step, so I decided to try RS66 50-110s. That’s the ticket! (I wear hearing protection in the rehearsal space so I hadn’t really heard them in the band context before)

And then it rained…I had to spread out all my cords/gear to dry when I got home.

Of course it did-and you did. There's a place in Ft. Pierce(FL)that we played twice. Poured like a SOB each time. Outdoor, semi sheltered gig on the beach. Crowd left. Owner looked at the receipts. Figgered the crowd didn't like us-which they did, just not enuff to get drownindated-so we weren't booked again.:banghead:

In the second set a lot of people were dancing. When the rain came, they pulled a couple of pop up event tents over the dance area. We got two encores and then called it. The mains and monitors were getting soaked. Good thing they are Yorkville/Traynor. That stuff is nearly indestructible.
I’m sure we’ll get called back for this party next year. We may also get a NY gig out of it.

did your 13 have the hipshot when you got it? would you consider for the 21?
It's a Babicz that I installed shortly after I got the '13. And yes, The '21 is going to get the Chrome Babicz.

As for Hipshot, I may be selling a chrome one. I originally got it for the Epi Silverburst, but couldn't get it to line up with the inserts and I didn't feel like pulling and resetting them. So I put it on the Goth. It worked fine with Black Beauties which I tired of; I don't like how they feel. So I put the Cobalt Flats on it that I recently took off the '15. The Colbalt D and G strings intonate too sharp and the travel the bridge allows is too limited. So, unless I can get Hipsht to send me a couple of the shorter E and A intonation screws, I'm disappointed in it enough that I'll likely let it go.

I wired it up a little bit ago and that darn post popped on me. going to have to pull it apart again :bored:

additionally I can't figure out how to get photos from my phone to my computer, no usb port on the computer.

I probably handle this like a cave man, but I email the pics to myself from the phone. Then I just download the pics from the email on the computer.

I've used Titebond and let it cure for a couple weeks before adding tension. Worked. Im loathe to use CNA or epoxy.

Email them to yourself if you don't use something like iCloud.

There are a lot of people who stay in business and I can't understand how.

I needed those on one bss and they sent them gratis, pronto. I had asked about price, expecting to pay.
