Some of you may know that we are having an election in Canada in 9 days. I went and cast my ballot yesterday at the advanced poll, and keeping with tradition; don't blame me, I voted for Alice Cooper!

I take a small bit of bamboo skewer (glorified toothpick), and wedge it between the insert and the wood as I'm reinstalling the insert. Requires hammer-tapping, but no glue or wait time
It's the shipping now that's really problematic. What you used to be able to ship for around $70 about 5 yrs ago is now an extra $100 on top of that somehow. I'd like to come up with a justification for such an increase for my services.That was the color I originally wanted. But if I buy it, I need to sell the burst… ugh. I hate the mechanics of selling and shipping. Silly, I know…
I haven’t played a rock gig in quite a while, so it was a blast to bring out my VP for the Jason Lane Band’s first show (with drums/bass) last night at a block party in North Vancouver. The trees you can see behind us in the pic are huge and overhang the road forming a natural amphitheatre shape.
Guitars are tuned down 1/2 step, so I decided to try RS66 50-110s. That’s the ticket! (I wear hearing protection in the rehearsal space so I hadn’t really heard them in the band context before)

And then it rained…I had to spread out all my cords/gear to dry when I got home.

I snip a bit of the center round part, maybe about 2/3 the length of the metal insert, and install the two simultaneously with a small hammer (with something on the insert to not damage its finish)
