Thunderbird Club

Good news, shop was fast and professional. New one should be here by Friday. In the short time I had this one really liked the weight, sound and look. Also, when the new one comes I am only one bass away from the Gibson infinity gauntlet.

I want any relicing to be my relicing.
Addendum: Spelchek doesn't like "relicing". Oh, well. I ain't changin' it.

Easy fix. Instead of pronouncing it relic-ing, try pronouncing it Re-licing.

For some reason, every time I see that word, my brain's first suggestion is "re-lice-ing", and have to consciously pull from context that it's "relic-ing".
Every. Time. :banghead:

Maybe it doesn't help that I feel the same way about pre-made relic-ing as I do about re-lice-ing :rollno:

(I didn't like pre-washed/acid-washed/pre-torn jeans, either, when it was a thing the first time...:meh: )

I sure like basses that are naturally worn though.

Quick question for the group. I just received the 2021 non reverse bird. On the headstock appears to be paint imperfection but it is where the headstock curls. Normal or no?
What Engle said: Personally I wouldn’t be happy with that on a new instrument.

Top notch quality = top dollar.
< Top notch quality = less than top dollar price.

It wouldn't bother me--if I got a better price. Same price and I'd send any bass back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one where the word just looks weird. For some reason if I see the word not knowing something like that might me on the way I say/pronounce the word to myself internally instead of just reading over it like other words. Brain damage from too much fun as a young person I guess.

No, a local dude in his 20’s. He had to borrow some money from his mom…
He said he plays noise rock. Wanted a short scale to tune down to C. He didn’t say anything about heavier strings.
I gave him the original bridge and tuners.

Works for me! I’m looking for a Gibson Reverse.

if you are looking for the non-reverse go to GC they have approx 9 more left in stock. After that it is March 2022 maybe.

Could be a Southern thing - I noticed years ago that Southerners break apart word pronunciation into different syllable sets than say, for example Northerners or midwesterners.

I used to live not to far from a town called Mosheim, TN. We pronounced it MOss-hīme.
When people would call into where I worked, I got to where I could guess where they were from by how they pronounced it.
MO-sheem, moh-SHIM, mosh-im, etc. Wikipedia says it's "MOSS-eyem", which is close I guess.

Only people from the South (or sometimes Germans or people of German descent, since it was named after college that was named after a Geman man.......) guessed right if they'd never heard it before.....
