Thunderbird Club

Like I said earlier, I had no idea about the racist side of it. The battle flag was displayed on the roof of a car weekly for years during the 80's on a TV show called the Dukes of Hazzard and I never heard anything negative about it.

What a difference 40 years make.
:roflmao:…..irony in that pic is that Catherine Bach is half mexican and the “General Lee” was built in Detroit…….things are never what they seem….

That toxic material is beginning to seep into your fingers now. It's only a matter of time.... I suspect you have less than 30 years to live, and any children you may have will be born naked. Stop while you can.

OK. I'll completely stop playing them.
Until Friday and Saturday night(s)-our next 2 gigs.
BTW, I'm 76, my one offspring* is 44.

*that I know of, anyway

For a few of you, you'll be sorta happy to know that I developed some pain in my fingers playing the EBCF's on the 67 TBird.
However, this just might be(hint of sarcasm)due to the fact I hadn't played said bass since Nov. 13 then played 3 gigs in 24 hours over this past weekend. Which is also why I'm trying to catch up on multiple threads now.:banghead:
Still love my Cobalt Flats.:hyper:
Clarification: Ft. Pierce American Legion, Saturday night; Breakfast background music at "Harry and the Natives" restaurant, Hobe Sound, FL, Sunday AM; Finnish Independence Day celebration, Sunday evening, Lake Worth, FL.

Sweet!
And for mahogany Monday I’ll share a full frontal of my 6 year old (2015 Tbird)…

To their credit, Lynrd Skynyrd flew that flag because it was where they were from. Those guys weren't mad at anybody, I believe that.
But right, it's time to know stuff...
I learned about the negative connotations in the early 1980s and haven't been really happy to see that flag ever since. I have personal reasons for that as well.

Certainly not happy to hear that. I fell about three months ago and strained ligaments in my left hand/wrist. The pain doesn’t really bother me when playing unless I play more than a couple hours straight. It is gradually getting better. Gentle stretching, the alternating thumb to fingertips exercise and hot/cold all helps.

And my set of Cobalt Flats now reside on the Goth. I’ll always have a set of them on at least one of my basses.

Any band that sells out Shae stadium faster than the Beatles is certainly and accurately defined by "hugely popular."

I wore out their Caught In the Act live album. No telling how many times a week I put that on once I got home from school. With my mother working and bikers next door I had no volume restraints. Listening to that also made me think how cool bass playing was. All of them were underrated as individuals and collectively. I think the biggest problem they had was Brewer's huge ego, which I don't think he chose to keep in check.
Good time solid rock n roll.
