Thunderbird Club

until someone mentions cobalt flats….

I did a quick check and didn’t see any for sale. Frankly, like your anniversary edition, I think we’re holding a bird that is appreciating in value. I’m never selling mine so it doesn’t matter.
I think every bird I own is worth more than I paid for it. And as you said, the Anniversary and 2015 are selling for a lot more than I paid for either - almost twice as much - and I’ve only owned them for a few years.
I think who ever said basses aren’t a good investment, never owned a Tbird.

Oops, gotta keep the myths going. I heard from my bass buddy’s band mates sisters guitar instructors wife that the only thing that dives faster than a Tbird neck is the Tbird value!

…or Tort guards!

Dogal Hellborg rounds - stranded core so very flexible, more flexible than TIJR for example - have the most beautiful highs I've ever heard from a bass string (I have no connection to them or to the retailer in my country, or to any other retailer).

I haven't been a treble guy or a rounds guy, but these could convert me.

GFR is a band from my early teens that I still like to listen to. I thought Mel was a great player. They were hugely popular for awhile. Critics never gave them any love but my friends and I sure did.

I was introduced to Grand Funk by "The Locomotion". I was a little kid then but it made me want to play in a band. I didn't know what instrument I wanted to play but I knew I wanted to play. Later I was introduced to their "real" music and had a whole new appreciation of the band. That bass in Gimme Shelter has soooooo much grind to it!! Love it!!

This is the most accepting and least offended group on this site by a long margin

Truth.

Yes, thanks to the club management. Grateful.
Coincidentally, those Dogal Hellborg rounds I praised three posts up are actually on a different type of bass, not my Embassy Pro, but I preferred to share what feels like a pretty good tone secret with youse guys here. :)

Mine will be played to the nib, so it won't command a high price in the distant future when the kid has to figure out what to do with all my old junk. But I won't be particularly concerned at that point.

Salami is fine. On a sandwich. Pepperoni is pretty good on pizza.
