Thunderbird Club

They can make one pre-drilled body(IV's)simplier and charge for 2 pup's(which costs them very little)then the end user can turn off* the superfluous[bridge]pup.
Strangely, if I turn on the bridge pup, my volume decreases. Tone stays about the same. Bad pot? IDK-or GAS. I was f---**ing around with it at a recent gig to see what it did to my sound. Nothing useful.

On every two PU bass I own there is a slight volume drop if the bridge is on all the way. It's not huge, but is clearly noticeable. Some kind of phasing (likely not the right word) of the two together maybe.

I don’t have any of those issues.
My basses are all 2 pu’ps and and never had the phasing or volume drop.

I have expereicend the same thing with every two pickup bass I have ever owned. I usually run the neck pick up at full volume and the bridge at 7 or 8. I can here the change happen when I roll off either pick up.

Pretty much my experience as well, with the exception of my '76s, they're wired differently.

When both pickups are on and they are wired in parallel the impedance is lower (half) and that way the output too. If wired in series the output is boosted. Subtle changes in volume.

I would get SOOOOO banned if I posted the movie clip I wanted to.....

I think the closest they might come is to offer colors for the ‘23 60th anniversary of the reverse. It would be cool if they were available in IIs and IVs. That may be wishing for too much though. I think the three point is here to stay.
To stay, maybe not. For the foreseeable future, yes.

But you can always swap out to a Babicz or Hipshot, so not a deal-breaker for those looking for something else.

The bass is old(so am I)-like 1967. I think the pots are original. On the neck pup, I leave it at 10-or 0 on breaks-and occasionally add the bridge pup. Which I then turn back off. By itself the bridge pup sounds like a weak guitar down an octave. I'm happy with the sound of the neck pup so I'm not gonna bother checking out the bridge pup/pot.
Does what you want it to do. So don't mess with it.

I love George's (bass) and now there are two here to lust over from time to time!
There’s an interesting holoflash thread here on TB…
Anyone got a holoflash bass?

They reference a guitar builder that specializes in holoflash finishes, and he has some breath taking ones. Here’s his site…

check out the LightFX holoflash gallery!
I’m still considering having an Aria Pro II ZZB bass painted by him if I can find a good donor. Something like this…

except the black part would be painted in blue holoflash and the white part would be painted in red holoflash for a fire and water type look.
