i have a spare three point…

Actually, now that you mention it, I think I do too (probably, the black one that came off my CP.....)

I’ll message ya both! :hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist::hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist:

I did look at that Hipshot one and while it looks functional, it just looks a little too different, I think it would look odd especially with the claw, and it costs too much.

Well, I got my Christmas present to myself today.

She's a Tokai ALC series, but I have no idea which one and the Tokai registry site doesn't help either. What I did find out though is that it must be around 20 years old and that it must have been build in Korea, since it has all the hallmarks of Epiphones from a similar age.
- Alder body
- Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard
- Small pots rather than full size ones.

But she's beautiful and I'm going to play her a lot

Playing her already birthed some new riffs

You might have noticed that I keep saying "She" and "Her" to describe her. And yes, I also gave her a name.

she’s a beauty! My heart is on fire…

I have said before that Tokai and Greco stuffs is super rare around here (as rare as Rickenbacker’s) so I have only held 2 Tokai in my life, one was a green Les Paul, (at the time I thought it was way overpriced because I didn’t have money) and the other oddly enough is a 7ender branded Tokai..

I always thought it funny that post lawsuit era 7ender was like…. “So, uhh… do you think y’all could make geetars for us”?

Please don’t get the impression that I’m a 7ender fan much less a strat guy… this one is just unique and really cool…

and now I own the very first Greco I have ever held…

I'm continually amazed at what you can do with an iphone camera, there's a bunch of edit/color/cropping features, and they take great close ups, amazing for the model trains.
I too am amazed at what some can do with digital photos. I use the camera on my phone frequently but as a utilitarian - take a photo of a document to prevent transcription error, know exactly the thing to buy, where I am etc. But for a visual arts medium, I am still stuck on film.

Interesting note on the tunas. Mine seem fine on both the 1977 and the 1990. Maybe post a close up pic and see if there’s a chance they aren’t stock. I will say, most of the vintage Greco hardware I see does seem to be fairly plagued with oxidation issues. I was lucky on my 1990, the hardware is nearly pristine.

the auction had a picture better than I could take… sorry no feets…

the bridge has a bit of the finish worn off..

I was pleasantly surprised by the non-oxidized hardware on my Greco. The tuners are solid and the claw looks almost new. The bridge finish was really worn and some of the black is missing from the pickups, but that looked like it was player wear. Some Greco's hardware looks like it had been soaked in salt water for a couple years.

No great bassists as far as I know. But I have a West Indies Test cricket Captain, Sir Richie Richardson and an ex F1 driver Emmanuele Pirro born on the exact same day. 12/1/1962.
Sir Ritchie was a great batsman (sorry “batter” is the new PC term), I used the same make of bat as he did (and Sir Viv Richards) but not to any great effect. :) But I looked good with it.
Sir Ritchie plays rhythm guitar in a reggae band Big Bad Dread & the Bald Head. Another WI cricketer from Antigua plays the bass, Sir Curtley Ambrose.

Rob Zombie is another Jan Twelfther. 1965.
Well, nobody I've ever heard of on August 22(or 22 August).

Nice! Interesting how they tucked the bird logo into the corner of the pickguard on the Greco. Is it stamped into the plastic?
