Irv, I did use a little contact cement to hold them in, didn't need much as they were a tight fit.
Heck, you can even do that with SS amps…… at least once.
For us it was the L.A. THUNDERBIRDS!
I thought that must be a Pinarello! My current ride is a 2007(?) Pinarello Galileo. Campy everywhere. If it were a bit larger frame I'd just replace the shifters and derailleurs (the poor Centaurs are on their last legs, per the local shop) and seat, and raise the bars a bit. It's ~17 pounds IIRC. Of course, I really need something more like a touring/gravel bike for my daily rides, but I'd keep this for backup and the days I was going to be only on smoother pavement. I've put ~3.2k miles on it this year, and it was already flogged quite a bit when I got it. But it rides like a Thunderbird plays - just much quieter.

Is the 50W tube? Tube amps as a rule want to be matched to their load. SS amps don't care, so long as it doesn't look too close to a short circuit. (Yes, that's a simplistic answer.)
Unless Fender said it was cool, I would not. Ideally you want it matched, but many tube amps will let you go safely into double the load, although if you play it wide open and the iron is marginal, you still might melt things. But rare is te amp I'd push to 4x the load, were I going to play close to the edge (note lack of caps).

I know. The couple I'm looking at have looong lead times.
Honestly, a wide-gear-range touring bike that can take wider tires would be fine. I'm mainly looking at pavement, hardpack, or gravel, with only occasional somewhat rough stuff.

I got demoted to the shop, so I have the beater Jazz bass with EB sleazy rounds 105-45
Ran it front pickup only, tone off 20%, and subjected everyone within earshot to 20 minutes of “Bassically/NIB” in a round.

Definitely has a solid dB rise
Each gear is distinguishable, but somewhat subtle unless you gas it (which I did

2 is supposed to be SVT. I’m using one, so yes
But it will do pissed off SVT at grandma acceptable volume3 is supposed to be ac30. Never played one. But it has a much less smooth grit to it (read the manual for why, asymetrical) You can hear it for sure. It sounds more janky (good way) OD like an Orange to me
4 To be the ACC360. I love this setting. More of a creamy thick OD
end result: Would buy after testing in a store if I didn’t already have it
I used the same settings, turned the amp off the big volume, and used the cleaner channel 2.

The chroming has already started. The Hipshot mini clover tuners are partly silver. It turns out I had some other Hipshot tuners that I was able to swap parts with to get all chrome on the DC.
Looks like I’ll get my pickup cover on the weekend, so I’ll get into then. Thanks!

From your description, fourth gear with the drive volume up might be a really sweet spot.
