Thunderbird Club

About bowed electric bass:
My fav is Louis Cennamo on Armageddon's sole album from 1975. He used that techique with Renaissance and Steamhammer too.

Lee Jackson of The Nice bowed quite a lot on their albums. He used the teardrop shaped Vox bass.
oh wow, you know that record! Keith Relf’s best work imho…
love the artwork……

Musicians Friend allegedly has all three colors of the new NR in stock, with an open box (either in green or blue, I forget which). Meanwhile Epi basic IV and 60s models are back-ordered.

I do believe Sweetwater is going to be listing a burgundy NR shortly, mine ships monday.

I've been demoing some tracks lately, putting down ideas and so on. Used the VP on this with the neck pickup on and cunningly turned the bridge on too at the end's "bass odyssey". Never mind the drumming or guitars and the bass is too loud. Not that anyone would mind that...

Nice. But what's with the "bass is too loud " comment? :woot::bassist::hyper:

Good friends with a young lady that drives a Pink Bentley Bentayga (LOL - maybe she should get a “Range Rovers are for Peasants” bumper sticker)…

…and no, hers isn’t a Mary Kay thing. She’s a trust fund baby in her late 20’s.
It's quite a trust fund if she can have a car like that. It isn't very aesthetically appealing, but then most SUVs are ugly to my eyes anyway.

We ended up with about 3" and are having a toasting 12 degrees of warmth this morning. Very fine snow that didn't cling to the trees for the pretty snow look.

Down to 26F this morning but back up in the 50s this afternoon. Low 70s the next two days. But the Thunderbirds are in the Room of Requirement, which keeps them at a comfy temp.

Thanks much to all who offered their comments on my question about playing with a bow. I am interested to see if I can make this work. I am heading into town to see may favorite tech and get my new NR set up properly. I am going to take my 5 string P as well. It has flats and the widest spacing of any bass I own. I am hoping he might have an idea about tweaking the set up to make it work for this project. I think the flats will be easier on the horse hair.
Happy Friday folks.
Make sure you have plenty of resin on the bow. It may take a while to get a decent sound, since the strings won't have any resin on them to start.

That can't be right. Those weights come out to less than 2 lbs.

I know right? - but if you add another zero it would be 18-19lbs, which also can't be right. I'd guess a bike like that would weigh in at around 15lbs or less.
