Thunderbird Club

Looks really nice with the chrome cover!

I’ve made the trip from Cincinnati to Boulder many times, usually about a 17 or 18 hour drive. I think Bent is down in the Four Corners area of the state so add a few more hours, then subtract an hour if you’re starting in Louisville KY. So Dagrev is probably looking at about a 20 hour road trip assuming good road conditions and traffic, a heavy right foot, an effective radar detector, and minimal stops for fast food, gas and potty breaks. A doable round trip on a three day weekend. MLK holiday is coming up, mark your calendars.

Sure looks a lot like the 2015 Tbird DeCola pup.
I'll have to add CO on my list if I ever get to head our West one day. I'll have to retire before hitting all the locations West of the Mississippi and plan on being gone a month!

With respect to the PUs looking like DeCola's, that's what first thought as well. I can't recall, does it have them same number of poles?

is it the missing pg screw facing the bridge pup that gives the wonky pup placement optical illusion? hmm....this one's been bothering lol....other than that, clearly other pg shape differences..

Talking about a PG for his 2103 NR, @BklynKen pointed out to me the 60’s pickguards didn’t cover as much of the body on the treble side as the newer versions.

I'm a fan of wagons too - my favorite are the "original" style of SUV; station wagon body on a truck frame:

:)

I'd love an old woodie (I know, ahem, ahem) wagon. I think the model I liked the most was late 30s, but I'm not finding an image online of what I remember. It was pretty squared off and high topped.

from Irv's post, looks like we'll be doing same in 90 years with the 2103 models...

What kills me is Gibson pays so much more attention to their guitars than basses.
When it comes to reissues that is.
So they better get on the purist band wagon, cause it's folks like us that are watching.
(well, I'm no purist), but I do relate to details.

I’m a wagon guy. My wagon ..actually my first car. 67 Checker Marathon..cause I couldn’t afford a 55 or 57 Belair.

When I was in art-college, there was a guy in the sculpture dept who bought a checker sedan (like the cabs). He completely coated it with astro-turf. Wish I had a pic of it - it was pretty cool.

All this talk of wagons.......I love this car, it's old, slow and a little ugly (like it's owner!) but with a some care it's almost indestructible, and yeah if you know how to drive, it's the best car for snow. Obviously they're Thunderbird friendly.
