Thunderbird Club

Looked like this

The more I look at it the more promising it seems.

Very interesting project I hope you get it Scott.
Haven't been around much- been learning stacks of new songs for the new band that I mentioned a while back.
I like these guys, they PREFER the sound of my LP Double Cut and TBirds to Fenders!!!!!!!! People of good taste.
The Double Cut is such a punchy bass and such high output! I really do recommend them to Bird lovers if you come across one.

Chrome GAS is building. The PRO IV tuners are a little hinky anyway. Will await the outcome of @ColinLP's installation. I worry about the bridge replacement, ie will the screw holes on a new bridge match the existing holes...

also, and this is really important, which knobs? Traditional black and shiny bell type knobs or fancy speed knobs?

Kat - this is a Thunderbird, you need speed knobs that go to 11
NEW - Set of 2 Speed Knobs For Guitar, #0-11 - BLACK

I'm completely willing to admit it doesn't work for everything/everyone

I know Will (Gaolee) doesn't play anything like I do (If he ever comes for a visit I'll try to change his mind!) he's actually a talented bassist - I'm just a spirited hack :roflmao:
That's what you think! Talent? I need a pedal for that. :roflmao:

But yeah, chances are I don't play anything like you do, plus, I play BG through a big ol' folded horn whenever I can. No tubes for bass, ever! That's not normal at all. I'm not sure dragging it down to the royal residence is a good idea when I finally get my sorry butt in gear and get down there though. There are way too many 'Birds to play with to waste time on exotic amplification.

Ya, I had a Traynor YBA200 for awhile it was a nice amp, very true. I just couldn't justify keeping it as every time we'd load up for a show I was grabbing for the GK which just works well for what we do. I can see a point in the future where I'm not doing the Nasty Habits any more and I'll probably shift back to a tube amp to have around the house.

+1 - tube amps at home, hybrid amps live. (yomv)

Very cool!

So obviously just a volume control (?)

How did you go about setting the preamp? Just tweak till it suited you and shut the cover?
Speaking of which, got a pic of the control cavity.

And in case you care, saw Sixx AM a week and half ago, they kicked ass!
I saw SixxAM on the last tour, was very cool, still the same Nikki, different band. Far as the bass, yes, like Sixx's it's single vol. Duff2 made me a mini Haz preamp with the pots attached backwards so it's set and forget. It had bass/treble cut/boost and with those pups, very Spector Like. I boot treble a bit and leave it be, change on the amp if need be. I'll get a pic inside tomorrow.
