Thunderbird Club

Well, so the idea was that since Jeff @JJR58 was going to be out to Cali for a visit we'd try to somehow meet up and have some fun somewhere near Chucky's place - Not his place, not volunteering him for that. So the thought would be a small GTG at someplace nearby to share some drinks, eats, laughs and etc. I think Jeff is there between 7/2 and 7/6, it's far enough out that I would likely drive down, it would be pretty cool to meet anybody that can comfortably make it.

I'm game -

Still magnified but maybe a little better.

Interesting!
Thanks for posting that shot, that is what mine looks like, but I have seen others that have the screw holes in different places! (check The Gibson Bass Book) Gibson was evidently inconsistent about this - imagine that!

@JIO Do you have a shot handy of the headstock of your '64?

A few days early, but I took the day off to chill, reflect, and play some Thunderbirds! Here’s the crew I brought with me:

Where can I find a template for the Gibson -style finger rest?

Not for commercial purposes, if I may add. I just want to have one made for my VP.

So it's 2.5" long and 3/8" deep and made of ebony that as you an see is not 'precision' cut (from the factory in 1964) Not sure what 5/16" related to...

You are very welcome. I've noticed that as well and was about to ask JIO about his also. This is must be when they began to think of inconsistency as a characteristic to be built in.
