You know, I was looking for a new TRC for my '64, I saw this as well and thought, if you're going to dream, dream big!
I decided that I'll make a new TRC using one of my '76s as a pattern.
You could take the one offa yer 2021 NR. Or. There's a place that makes custom TRC's out of wood. I got one for my Epi EB-0. Looks pretty good.

Well I think I'm done messing with the 2021 Nonreverse. Now equipped with a Epiphone 760 Probucker in the neck position and the last of my Badbird II bridges. These changes have turned this bass into a monster. The 760 has a noticeably higher output and grittier tone to the stock pickups and the bridge definitely increased sustain. I am adjusting to the wider nut and long for a bigger headstock. Don't laugh a friend of mine builds classical stringed instruments and when I told him I think in part tone lives in the headstock he whole heartedly agreed ;) I hope to have some live footage soon.

Nice! I know you did a demo on this when you got it. Maybe an update, post changes?

It was from Reverb ad, much more busier player.

The same Guitar Bank though...maybe the player is the same too. :D

Yah, watched that one. There's also a bunch of vids of a guy playing one doing L'Arc-en-Ciel songs w/a backing track. Oh, and I have a cool Terje Rypdal LP & included CD called "Sky Music - a tribute to Terje Rypdal" from 2017 that features a number of guitarists including American's Bill Frisell, Henry Kaiser, Jim O'Rourke (Tortoise), David Torn, Nels Cline, and 9 other (Norwegian?) guitarists that you may be familiar with.

Looks fantastic! I bet it sounds like that too.

No matter how cool it looks - it's gotta sound the way you want. Hope the Duncans bring it home for you. :bassist:

I just bought this one - a Japanese market only (from Japan) 3-pu bass from (year?) that originated in the '90s - made by ESP - the Bass IV (riffing visually and in that tricky numerical turnaround... from the early '60s Fender VI)

'64 Fender VI - the oddball guitar/bass that a few players made good use of, including Jack Bruce before settling in on his Gibson EB.

Painted by the Fool - currently in the Museum of Modern Art. Looks like a bit of modification w/the bridge pu.

I think I saw the top bass on Reverb a day or two ago, nice.
Years ago I saw a local country singer playing rhythm guitar with one, you couldn't really hear it very well which was probably just as well as he was playing full chords on it.

My problem is I like too many different basses. But I’ve had a run of bad luck with twisted necks. Oye!!!

My problem is that my like to dislike ratio skews WAY toward the like side. I haven't encountered many (any?) basses that I really dislike, they all usually have at least a few redeeming qualities that would cause me to like to own one.

It's nowhere near close to a fit - Like night and day. A '76 TRC is closest so I'll just use some crazy model railroad skills and get it done, it won't be the first time. :)

Party at Chucky’s then!

Well, so the idea was that since Jeff @JJR58 was going to be out to Cali for a visit we'd try to somehow meet up and have some fun somewhere near Chucky's place - Not his place, not volunteering him for that. So the thought would be a small GTG at someplace nearby to share some drinks, eats, laughs and etc. I think Jeff is there between 7/2 and 7/6, it's far enough out that I would likely drive down, it would be pretty cool to meet anybody that can comfortably make it.

isn’t it inverted from reverse to NR?
there’s matte ones with the correct gold lettering online for cheap….sprayed a coat of clear gloss on mine…..looks great..

I don't have a shot of the headstock of my bass handy, but due to the headstock repair the screw holes are not in the correct location, so make a TRC that just fits this bass - I tried a '76 on it and while it's close it's not going to work.

If you firm up the dates on a Santa Cruz GTG in early July keep me posted, we normally hit Carmel about that time so it’s an easy skip up the road to SC, my old high school stomping ground.

So you're saying you aren't interested in my '64 TRC for $500 even if I give you a 10% discount (but wait)--and free shipping? Deals like that don't happen very often you know. :smug:

our apt in SC is too small to host but our house in Ridgemark is huge (4 unused bedrooms, our 18 year old now lives on campus in San Jose and the girls have long been gone) and it’s where i keep all my toys (Birds, amps, cars, pool, boat) it’s also a 45 minute drive from SC…just sayin’….
