Thunderbird Club

I’m trying to avoid as much of the Neil discussion as I can because he is, along with Bowie and the Boss, one of the reasons I love music so much. His writing helped me along the road of my life more times than I can count. In his case, he doesn’t care what others think, except his loyal base. He’s living out his final years with his movie star wife and enjoying himself. He’ll keep writing, playing and yes, singing, “until he can’t.”

To each their own and I respect those who don’t share my opinion. I just don’t agree. I love the guy. Happy Friday!

 Great pic Marshall!

We certainly all like different things, and no doubt all carry some wrong preconceived ideas about those we don't like. I can/try to appreciate talent, even if I don't care for it or them.

I'm with you Marshal. I try not to bash artists or music I don't particularly listen to. In the case of the few I could, I just; 1) don't listen to them/their music, and 2) enjoy the artists/music I listen to, including Neil Young.

Kenny G is fair game though...
Glad you didn't mention Bread!

His name was Lee Vachon, he died about 20 years ago, rock & roll excess. Here's a demo I did with him during the late 70's. He wrote this. He was on the right in the picture.
I think there was another band that had a hit with that same name some years later.

Picture right, I assume, not stage right. Sorry he's gone, Bob. Fun song, good playing! Were you singing lead?

No, I didn't sing at all on that one, the lead singer's name was Ron and Lee sang the high part. Stage left, yes. That stuff could have come out a lot better, many substances, both solid and liquid in that band.

It has a few unique features for sure. The hs may look like a NS Sig or a Spector but I doubt it is either one. I'll guess since it has Gotoh tuners, it's a Japanese export bass of presently undetermined brand from the late '80s-early '90s. So one volume for both h pu's together? That would be odd. How does it sound?

It's clearly a Whatsit.

Well, I think it might be a good idea to pay my home insurance, the Infernal Revenue Service, the electric bill, etc. Unless someone wants to buy my 67 NR for ~$12,000-plus shipping*. Includes Coffin Case.

*might throw that in. CONUS, of course.(NO FEDEX!!!)

At the least, that's a 65/66/67 NR. Was it built by Johnny Cash? If so, I'd think that's under-priced.

forgot Fossen played Birds as well…

It's great - every band member gets screen time in front of the camera... every member BUT the bass player! It was a thing for most bands (other than the Beatles or bands with bass-player lead singers)
