Yeah, which will most certainly be no where near the asking price! The value is always determined by what someone (sucker in some cases), is willing to give for it.

Assumptions of worth run wild when someone has a 'vintage' Fender... There's a Phil Kubicki made P neck on eBay with a very inflated asking price - it's been there for a while. Now if George Harrisons PK made all rosewood Tele came up for sale, that would be a different story.

Is that the Orville/Epiphone you mentioned earlier? I had an Orville from 1991, but sold it in favour of my Gibson 1990 TB (my current main player). And as it usually turns out, now I regret selling it…

Yes. I had a tobacco burst Epi Japan bird 15 years ago and foolishly sold it, so I totally get your regret. This should scratch that itch though. I imagine this one could possibly be an Epi Japan model as well. I may be able to narrow it down once it arrives.

Of course it is. I meant this particular one; the new-old one.

It's the main squeeze, no doubt about it. I wish things would have allowed me to buy one much earlier in life, it's an exceptional bass to my ear, even with the pickup cranked down flush with the pup ring it's just got an amazing tone. I'm reluctant to even change the strings on it - it just sounds that nice.

The Bird and the House Tiger at rest, it's a nice sunny but cold morning today.

Looks crude but I'll get the wood plates painted/dyed etc.

Soundbites attached. Just jammed with a drumtrack, changing pickup confiqs along tge way. The cab sim is Acoustic 301 which colors it a bit but if one bass doesn't need a clean DI signal it's the 12-string. And it's relatively clean anyway, no added distortion.
nice diddy!

Excellent! Do you know what strings are on there right now?

I think they're Nickle Rounds of some kind, no silks. They're not as bright as a Stainless Steel string, depending on where your hand is touching the string they can tight and well defined or quite deep and very bassey.

I had the honor of having a lengthy conversation with Gene Parsons probably going on 30 years ago.

One of the things we ended up discussing was Roger McGuinn's frequent use of a Danelectro 12 string on recordings, but using the Rickenbacker 12 string live.

I am unable to mention this around Rickenbacker elitist's, because tempers flare, and blood vessels burst, and diapers are rapidly filled.

this thing just stopped working out of the blue today (not surprised)..

much better now…

Yup, in 47 years I've only had two SVT heads suddenly stop working on me and one time it was user error and the other time user neglect. I had one fall from the top of an SVT cab once onto a concrete sidewalk, the sidewalk got damaged more than the head.

Not if the debris takes off your arm or leg or the smaller bits hit you like a shotgun blast...

I'd prefer the decompression induced nap on my way to nonexistence so perhaps I'd not bother with the oxygen source if things look like we're not making it to a runway.

It takes a lot longer than two minutes to get foggy from low O2 concentration.

I got the CP today, absolutely mint, still has the stickers on the pickguard. He's had it approximately 12 years, hasn't played it since it was new when he took a few lessons. It is light with nice wood figuring. It's a made in China. I think it would look good with a black pickguard, what's the preferred source for one? Photos tomorrow...
