Thunderbird Club

"Hey, doc! I got this slight rash on my pinkie. Clearly I need hallucinogens. Probably LSD."
"Sure thing, Mr. O'Neal. You want window pane, blotter, or what?"
Maybe where you live.
There used to be quite a few "pain management" doctors(?)around here. A few got to spend time at the gray bar hotel.

I was never attracted to the late '60s NR T-bird in the past - but in retrospect, I like it a lot. Love the very deep "belly contour" the Gen1 never had. There's other reasons but I'll leave it there for now.

I really, really had to exercise some self control to not post in that thread - Ugh!
Take really deep breaths and hold the '64 close for at least 10 minutes. If that doesn't help, I'm sure you have a cabinet where you might find some relaxing elixir.

I wanted to, but kept thinking I would fall for the bait. Maybe that was what the guy wanted. As mentioned, I've not played one, but I seriously doubt it was much different from other 'Birds, if at all. What he cut off would hardly make a difference, if any.

I disagree. The big headstock contributes to the Thunderbird tone. Chopping it off reduces the resonance at one end.

But the really ugly thing is the strap button on the face of the bird!

I was gonna look, but after reading y'all's comments, I think I'll keep my BP no higher than it already is.

That you should go over there and post. Go into as much detail as possible and throw in some chemistry and explain how he has altered the tone of the bass and start a whole other debate.

I obviously have less self control than you do, but that’s ok, I kept it civil.

I'm guessing that you could vote for more than one of the selections because the percentages go well above 100% and since none of the available choices were anything close to, "I love it!", this was just a complete troll/attention thread from the beginning. The fact that he would do this instead of asking for some real advice doesn't make me think too highly of him though I'm certain he wouldn't care what any of US think or anyone period.

He cut down the headstock so he could use his available gig bag.

The mods remind of stuff you used to see done to cars regularly.

As soon as I saw the orange shoe laces and the striped socks, I realized that he was not to be taken seriously... About anything. I guess that is how life is as a full-time troll.

Per an NPR piece a few weeks ago, most of what comes from illegitimate sources is Fentanyl sold as other narcotics. That is the current cause of the OD epidemic right now.

Tom had Fentanyl in his system. I read an article somewhere or other a few months ago about it and in some areas the 'heroin' is all Fentanyl, it's cheaper and easier to get. If ever there was a reason to not do dope this is a VERY good one. I have read there are even counterfeit percocets made from fentanyl. I'm a retired RN and we used to give Fentanyl patches to elderly people with severe pain. The stuff is so powerful it only takes a minute quantity to OD from it and most dealers that cut it up aren't exactly chemists.
