Thunderbird Club

Looks like you have the pickups raised quite a bit too, it's interesting that mine is cranked down all the way and the bass is loud, almost overloading the front end of the amp - The Greco, Lull and Jackson all do that.

My Blackbird does that also - the flats take the edge off, but with any kind of roundwound I've put on it, I have to put it through the low-gain amp input.....and it still pushes harder than any of my active basses.

Yeah. I thought those had a cut. But it has been a long time since I’ve seen one.

:)

I've been on a 70's Wishbone Ash kick lately and been listening especially to "Live Dates 2", "Live In Tokyo" and "Guildford 1980" plus selected studio tracks from essentially Laurie Wisefield years before Martin Turner was kicked out (1974-1980). What a fantastic bassist with a very unique style (like a mix of Chris Squire and John Gustafson) and a much better singer than he usually gets the credit for.
Martin isn't underrated when compared to the drummer Steve Upton. Great groove:

The very early Hamer with T-Bird pickups.

Love the grain on that, and an awesome set of pickups to boot! Is that your new build?

Well I could post this and say “look what I did to my thunderbird”…

Been getting this more and more lately. Is it just me?
Were you posting from a search result page or something?

No, just a youtube link which doesn't like to be embed it seems. I tried to edit it to a normal link but that didn't work.
Can you see the video when you click the "Watch on youtube" link?

It's Wishbone Ash playing "Lorelei" at Rockpalast 1976.

Yes that works, but this kind of notice seems to be much more common of late.

Yes, very true, but is it maybe more true of the late 60s? I'll have to see if I can re-run across where I read that. But I tend to trust the person that said it more that what I would likely read.

Maybe @godofthunder59 could shed some light and personal experience on it.
Nonreverse are a bit hotter than the 63-65 reverse birds, at least in my experience . As mentioned the winds were done with a timer not a very accurate way to wind. I don't know if there was a conscious decision to up the wind count on Nonreverse birds or if it was just being sloppy.
