As I found out last night trying to upload the website.
For a while I thought it was me incorrectly typing. After 4 tries I wondered what was going on.
Since jebmd just talked with him a few weeks ago, my guess is someone simply forgot to renew their domain. According to whois, the thunderfunk.com registration expired on Tuesday. But, rather than rely on speculation or someone's third-hand knowledge, the best way to get ahold of him is probably to call him. There are other phone numbers listed in whois (for now) if you want to dig into that (I won't post them here in honor of his privacy), but the number he had listed on his web site was 847-450-9444.
Thunderfunk needs a marketing person. Website issues and distorted youtube videos don't help the cause.
Just got off the phone with Dave.
He is still going strong and will continue to build the 800 and is ready to take orders. The website being down was a mistake and now that he knows about it, he will work on getting it back up.

No worries, glad you did. I don't go to his site very often so I would have never noticed.
Anyone thinking about a new order? I love my 550 which is plenty loud, but would really like to try an 800.
See if you can try one before you buy, they do sound quite different, IMO. Certainly different enough to keep both, if you can. But personally, I wouldn't lose my 550 to get an 800.

I was gigging a 550, sold it, and got an 800 a little time down the road. I'd go 800 all day over the 550. Different strokes.

I met Dave at his lab to pick up my 550/accugroove combo. Hyper smart and a good guy. Nothing better, only different.

Just snagged a 550B and its first gig is tonight
I got a 550B some years ago and it quickly became my go to amp.
I use very little EQ (slight mid-bump) because the Timbre knob is so amazing. It makes every bass sound great.
