TI Jazz Flats

Yep, picked some up last week. First set. They are amazing
Still at $55 and I just received my 2 packs. I should probably buy more, but that means I will need to buy more basses to go with more new strings. 
Seems like an excellent reason to pick up a few more basses!

Yeah these popped up again right after I had bought 2 used sets on TB! Bad timing, but I still grabbed another just because I have a few Covid project basses coming together than may pair well with TIs
My set was delivered a few hours ago. I had a hate for flat wounds going back to the 80's. I have always used rounds.I guess whatever bass I tried back then must have been pretty bad with bridge cable sized flats.
These strings are amazing! I cannot believe with the hundreds of sets of strings since I started playing I never gave these a shot. Absolutely sound and feel fantastic. I my order a few more sets before the day is over.

Okay, I've held off as long as possible. Just ordered a set. Believe it or not after decades of playing, I've never tried these. I'll give them a shot. Not sure what I'll think about the low tension, since I tend to dig in at times.
My favorites (having never tried these) are the LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats; DR Legends; and GHS Precision Flats. Chromes are also really good, but only after they've been on for at least 6 months.
Not sure when I'll get to try these out though, since all my basses already have strings that I love on them. And flats last forever!

They will probably take some getting used to coming from your particular reference flats, both in feel and tone. You can get away with raising the action quite a bit with TIs without them feeling tense or difficult to play, so something to consider trying if they feel far too loose at first. It sounds like you may really not like them at first tonally, they can start a bit bright and mid-forward, but when they wear in they really sweeten up and tend to keep an expressive midrange that other flats can lose. If you have a fretless, I might recommend them on there- they can be super expressive on a fretless
Yeah, I thought they might be really good on a fretless. But I sold my fretless Jazz awhile back. I used D'Addario Black Nylon Tapewounds on it, and they were real nice also.
I probably shouldn't have bought the T.I.'s, but figured I'd check them out at that price. But I have a little Neanderthal in me. I like my action a bit higher than most folks. Partly because I do like to dig in at times; plus I like the note clarity I get from a higher action. I'm not a slapper. Worst case scenario is that I'll give them to one of my buddies if I don't like them...

Used TIs sell pretty quickly in the classifieds as long as they are in good physical shape (even worn-in ones!).
