Personally happy to see The Zombies recognized. Don't understand the Janet Jackson decision. Never a huge Radiohead, Cure, or Roxie Music fan, but OK. Could go either way on Nicks.

I think all of the nominees have had an impact on modern music in one way or another. It does seem odd that it's taken this long to get to The Zombies, though. As a Radiohead fanboy I am quite happy for them, but I didn't expect them to get nominated yet.

that list is brutal for my tastes. The Zombies are definitely the best of the bunch but if that band was an NFL running back would they make it into the Hall of Fame? I think not. I've never liked how the RRHOF's primary criteria for induction seems to be just having done something at least 25 years ago.

Nicks, Jackson....so much for Rock 'n Roll. Looks like more crap awards for selling records and still being alive. Sludge like this diminishes the value of the award previously bestowed upon the R'n'R giants that deserve the honors.

Todd Rundgren was finally nominated this year but not inducted.

What I don't get is that many acts that started in the 1980s and 1990s are already inducted and numerous, well deserving acts from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s have never even been nominated.

She is known for sonically innovative, socially conscious and sexually provocative records, and elaborate stage shows.

See that part that says, "sonically innovative, socially conscious?" That's more than Def Leppard did.

They're just trying to get people to buy tickets. So they give meaningless awards to anyone who will let them.

People who get upset about who's in and who's not always assume there's legitimacy to it. There really isn't. It doesn't mean anything.

With his tremendous influence and impact on music, TODD RUNDGREN should already be in the R&RHOF but alas he is not. He was NOMINATED this year and still did not get in. (Even the OP failed to list his nomination).

what exactly is 'rock' but a history lesson, mostly? if newer acts are not considered then anyone and everyone who ever made rock contributions ("back in the day") would eventually make it to the HOF. sooner or later i'd be considered/nominated.
