Time to switch to Dunlop Super Brights!!!

Does somebody know if BSO is closed this week? I ordered a couple of strings set last week but the order still showing as ''in order'' status, I tried to contacted them twice this week but I haven't heard from them, they are usually fast replying emails, anyway, I will probably stop by GC after work to get a set but I am wondering if my emails are going to their junk folder.

FWIW, I didn't have an issue with my set (bum string or intonation), and they are the much maligned nickel. I haven't gotten around to ordering the steel set yet, but these are still going strong. I'm not expecting them to fall off of a cliff, and I don't think I've ever broken a string playing. I did, however, break a string with my foot hungover one morning. It was the most bloody/gruesome hangover I've ever had. #metal

Interestingly enough,with my very first set of Super Brights, the E string broke just before the tuner...while i was tuning it to pitch during instalation! They (Dunlop) did make good on it, but it still shakes your confidence, big time! ( and PS, no- there was no incorrect installation, burr, witness point etc.... just a bad string)

Not so much a bad string as it is they don't like the fat part to be wound around the posts of small tuners like Schallers and Sperzels. Would like to see them offered with smaller speaking lengths my own self because I have a couple with Sperzels and Schallers.

Dr's do that really bad on my P. The fatter windings seems to want to "roll" up on top of the narrower windings.

My first two sets had issues with the D on the first set (had to go so far back the saddle ran out of room) and the G on the second (had to go so far forwards the scale was about 33.5" instead of 34).

This happened on two separate basses, both of which intonated perfectly with the D'Addarios I used.

My third set was the winner - perfectly intonated but they are on yet another/different bass (Modulus). I bought 4 sets recently so I am hoping the issues are sorted, because other than intonation issues these strings always felt and sounded great, and I can no longer stand the D'Aaddario XLs I used forever, though I still dig Flexsteels (just not anywhere near as much as these Nickel SuperBirghts)

Oh yes - always the .105 - .45 set. B and E never were an issue, though I am using the IMO far superior .130 B now with the .105-.45 set instead of the .125 (I buy the 6 string set as it is the cheapest way to get that .130 B)

I was wondering if it was isolated to the 40-100 sets, as I just opened 3 new sets of those and have 2 dead A strings and a kinked G string. I've never had intonation issues with anything at all, and I never had any problems with the 15 or so 45-105 sets I've gone through in the last 2 years. But, all those 45-105's were in the old style packaging. I only had problems with strings in the new style packaging. I know they'll get things fixed up. I just hope they don't change the formula.

I'll still stand behind these strings 100% though. I'm not about to deal with a lesser string just because of a few minor issues that Dunlop will rectify without question. Yeah I had a couple of dead strings but guess what...any other string set sounds like ALL the strings are dead in comparison.

Thanks for your support. The more Dunlop strings sales we get the easier it’ll be for us to get them for sale.
6-strings on are order and should arrive here soon. That’s why the website won’t show them for purchase yet.
We are only able to get pre-set packs from Dunlop. No single strings at this time.
It’s not easy for us to get Dunlop strings. However we intend to expand the selection when possible.
