Just a clarification on my earlier post...

I've contacted Club Bass (Toronto) directly and they told me the 6-string sets are currently on order and out of stock, which is the reason why there is no option for selecting it on their website at the moment.

By the way, I've never dealt with a company who's as responsive as these people, who have responded to every single email I sent to them in a very timely fashion (as in a blink of an eye ;)). Way to go! :thumbsup:

They are likely waiting for the 6 string sets - I do know they will be getting both SS and now Nickel 6 string sets, as I inquired about the nickels a couple mo

This happened on two separate basses, both of which intonated perfectly with the D'Addarios I used.

My third set was the winner - perfectly intonated but they are on yet another/different bass (Modulus). I bought 4 sets recently so I am hoping the issues are sorted, because other than intonation issues these strings always felt and sounded great, and I can no longer stand the D'Aaddario XLs I used forever, though I still dig Flexsteels (just not anywhere near as much as these Nickel SuperBirghts)

Oh yes - always the .105 - .45 set. B and E never were an issue, though I am using the IMO far superior .130 B now with the .105-.45 set instead of the .125 (I buy the 6 string set as it is the cheapest way to get that .130 B)

Happy to report another successful install - the bass that formerly wore a set with intonation issues is now perfectly intonated with the new set I just put on, so I am now 2 sets good - these were 6 string sets that worked (I don't use the C) but I am hoping more importantly it is a sign that the previous issues have been worked out by Dunlop now.

Love these strings.

Re: intonation - I have a set on my G&L JB2, a bass that I've had for years. This bass has seen many different brands of strings and I've never had issues with intonation. With the SS SB's I had to install longer bridge screws to get it to intonate properly - BUT - it was worth it, the bass has never sounded better, and I love the feel of these strings.

Ok after two months they are finally here. For me these are DR Sunbeams twin strings. They have very strong low mids with open and huge low end, little bit scooped on high mids and clear, focused, subtle high and without sizzle. Beautiful feeling under fingers and I can't believe how are they so flexible and are not hex core. They have pretty much same tone from the start, not so bright but very warm.

Just to clarify, they are hex core and I think you meant to say 'how are they so flexible and not round core'. I knew what you meant :)

So this is the longest I've had a set of SB Nickels on my bass yet...2 1/2 months. Had a whole lot of gigs in that time, too, probably 30. They seem to have stabilized over the past couple weeks and they're not getting much more dead. Threatened to change them a couple times, but I'm afraid to mess with the mojo now, because they're mojo-in' a-plenty! Big fat thick flat-like tones when I want them, but still plenty of zing when I want some snap. I'm enjoying not changing strings every couple of gigs, too. Think I'll be sticking with this set for a while.

My first set is over a month old, and mellowing nicely.
The aging process is about equal to my experiences with DR lowrider nickle.
So I now have 3 basses with SB.
One stainless 2 nickle.
NO INTONATION ISSUES ON ANY.
Squier VMP5 first
Warwick Dolphin
Goya double P (stainless)

So far so good. The tone works really well, and digging the aged tone.

VASTLY prefer the nickles.
These replaced EB cobalt flats: disappointment for me on my main player the Squier.

The warmth in the midrange is just wonderfull.
The out of the pack tone is great, but once the sheen goes, these strings continue to have enough ping to not sound dead.

The feel is really nice, and string response is very even.

I like these very much.

Since I am too impatient to wait a week for new strings for my newly acquired P bass I stopped by GC this afternoon. I had planned to see if they would price match the $11.29 BSO price. I was very surprised to see that they already had them on sale for $12.97, marked down from $17.99. The one thing that concerns me is that they were on clearance! Why would such well received strings be on clearance, and why does BSO have them so cheap? Now I'm worried that they won't be available any longer or Dunlop is making some change to them! :crying: I bought the last two sets my closest GC had in stock.
