Time to switch to Dunlop Super Brights!!!

I used D'Addario XL's since 1990 on most of my basses. My move to SB nickels was mostly about the feel under the fingers and the way the SV's aged without getting cranky and dull after 6 weeks. (I prefer a broken-in tone)
About the B: I haven't tried a 130, but the tone I get from the 125 blends well with the rest of the set. If you play with a heavy touch or like to set relief near flat, the 130 may be a better match. Like most 125's, you have to lighten up on the attack a bit.

I'm gassin for these strings again. Had them on my music man sub before and they sounded great but I couldn't really work them with the setup I wanted on it. Now that I've got a jazz bass, they'd be perfect for it. I tried my old set (well, 3 strings) and it's awesome, but my G string is cut for the stringray so I can't put it on a jazz 
Are there still intonation problems with these? I'm thinking either these or Sunbeams.

Dunlop seems to have fixed those issues.
If you happen to see the boxed style packaging I'd avoid them. Dunlop changed the package sometime ago.
Haven't had any problems in the last 1.5 years since.
I have bought several new sets from BSO and he get's them directly from Dunlop recently and they all have been in the Grey Box. I'm not sure what your talking about.
Yeah that's the one I got last year (silver box). So nothing's changed
The packaging has always been silver for Super Brights.
Old packaging is a squared off box, with the strings shrink wrapped inside.
New packaging tapers to a 'teardrop' at the top and the strings are no longer shrink wrapped (which bummed me out when I saw that).

Cool, good to know. Mine (bought last year) looks like the one on the right (tapers to a teardrop, same design), except with a red sticker on the right that says 45/105 (since it's for a 4 stringer). Strings inside were in a plastic bag (with 2 small silica gel packets), and each string has its own paper sleeve.

Wow that must be OLD!! Where did you find that? I thought the black/silver was only used on the normal Dunlop strings!
Must have been some pre-release graphic for the website I'm guessing..especially since they spelled 'nickel' wrong in the web address! Heck it doesn't really matter I guess
Anyone have issues the past few months, with new super brights having a chorus-like tone issue?
I received a new Kiesel back in April (they use super brights). Every string had a very prominent chorus/harmonic effect in the tone. That bass went back for a host of reasons...
Fast forward and I put a new 4 string nickel set on my Carvin Icon, along with a stainless .130 B string. The B, E, and A all have the chorus problem.
I tried a set of the Mracus Miller stainless. All good there.
Another set of nickel and the E is really bad with this effect.
I have been using super brights on this bass for quite some time, now. This issue started this year.
I'm also disappointed to see that the D and G strings are still coming out of the packs with little kinks in them. I don't usually feel them when strung up at tension. But *** they should have fixed that by now. My MM steel set had the most kinks per string, I have yet experienced.

I've found that chorus effect is usually the result of a pickup being too close to the strings. Can't say I've had it with my basses using the Dunlops.

Yep that's what I was getting at in the packaging.
Wanted to give a heads up on that in case someone hits a local store for a set.
Until recently, local GC still had the squared/boxed style. Some M&P shops still have them.
For me, I haven't had any of the past problems since the packaging change to the folded over top.
Would be great if Dunlop would shrink wrap the sets again. I buy several at a time when Jason runs his sales. ** Hint hint anyone from Dunlop if your reading.
