Time to switch to Dunlop Super Brights!!!

What didn't you like about the SS? I use nickels most of the time, but have one bass that I first tried SS SBs on and they seem perfect, so I haven't messed with that combo.

Sounds really good.I think it's the Hanson Neo-Punch pickup. It came with the bass
I just got a set from Jason for my PBass and it definitely made me a convert. I join the chorus.
Little too raspy for my current tastes. At least I think so on my active P Lyte Deluxe.
Still loving the Nickels - recently put on a set of D'addario Xls I had lying around from before I started with SBs - they sounded/felt fine. But the Super Brights sounded/felt amazing in comparison, so those XLs came off after 10 minutes

Agreed.
I used XLs for years due to their incredible availability regardless of what town I happened to be in that night. After switching to the Super Brights I found the XLs to be overly rigid, not as nice sounding up top or down low, and just generally a less pleasant playing experience. Now I ignore the higher availability of the XLs and just carry a stash of Super Brights with me everywhere.
I've got a BSO order in for a set of these for my fretted. A set of La Bella white copper tapes for my fretless too. Excited!

Super Brights are... Well... You’ve read the thread. Tapes are like this wonderful middle ground between flats and rounds, but come with this incredibly low tension feel that you’ll either love or hate. The tension seems like a very polarizing thing for some folks. I put LaBella black nylon tapes on a bass of mine and nothing will ever live on that bass again. They’re absolutely wonderful.I've never tried either of them. Giving them a shot based on experiences shared by you and others here. Can't wait.
Have been using them for 2 years now, on many different basses and absolutely love them! Stainless steel over Nickel for me.
Man, still lovin the nickel super brights (45-105) but I'm still curious about DR Sunbeams so I'm planning on trying them out on my jazz. Good news is, no other strings are really interesting to me so it's down to those two. Haven't played Sunbeams in a few years, hope they're as flexible as Super Brights and around same tension.
They're here! The rosewood fingerboard is having a little yearly soak of mineral oil while I finish some things up and then on they go!
They are pretty close but Dunlops cost half as much so really they last a lot longer per dollar.
Anyone know if BSO can source a single .030 super bright? Unfortunately Dunlop doesn't sell 6 string sets in light gauge.
They sell single SB's in a 30 gauge for this express purpose.
yes he has them. I thought they were on his site but I don't see them now, but he does have them.
