Tips on getting fit quick?

Atkins Diet!!!! I lost 65 lbs from Jan to April and lovin it, As James Brown once said, "I feel good"

Seriousely if you read the book and follow that diet and throw in excersise, you will see results, I tried everything before good ole Dr Atkins and nothing worked.
Oh I also went to my Dr and got checked out and everything is perfect, My bloodwork and Cholesteral are all fantastic.
Good luck

Eat three meals per day and avoid snacking between meals. Make sure that you get up from the table full at meal time so that you aren't going around hungry - you'll quickly cheat or quit if you try to starve yourself. Drink a big glass of water before sitting down to a meal, then have a salad to start with, then eat what ever you want as long as you are eating from the four basic food groups. Never eat within 2 hours of going to bed.
Regular exercise is also very important, but I'd caution anyone starting an exercise routine to not try to do too much or you'll burn out and quit. Drink lots of water everyday.

i lost 50 lbs in about 4 months from dropping soda, deep fried foods, pizza and all that other heavy stuff... now it's about water, juice, veggies, tofu, mmmmmmm..... good stuff... oh yeah, i jump around a lot when i play shows. it's a good workout if it fits the music & your band's style. being 6 blocks from the Pacific Ocean helps too.. great surf = great workout! :D

First, don't lose 40lbs in two months, unless you're talking British currency. It's not healthy for the body, and odds are good you'll put it back on.

Be smart about working out, consult a real trainer or someone with experience. Getting healthy and fit is a good, no great, objective, and a highly encourage you to pursue it, but to pursue it wisely. It took you time to put the weight on, it will take time to take it off.

Further, it's hard to break current dietary and exercise habits. It will take time to get accustomed to a new regime. Even further, the trick is to not be concerned with what you see in the mirror, the trick is to start feeling good about yourself. When you do this, you increase your incentive to eat right and to exercise, and then the results will follow. This type of visualization, while looked at as airy-fairy to many I'm sure, is essential. Don't diminish the psychological aspect of this game.
