Tired, annoying phrases

We sound like a bunch of old grumpy men! Lol :D

"Get off my lawn!!" :roflmao:

* Please remind me to never speak to any of you in person should we meet. Conversation would be like walking through an area seeded with land mines! Lol . We should just do the manly nod and move on... ;)
I started this thread over two years ago and am only just realizing that to eliminate all of these examples from my speech would likely mean I'd have to just stop talking.

Considering an estimate is a guess, it is a bit redundant, yes.
I see the as different--an estimate uses some facts to suggest an outcome/amount/result, etc.
You may not have all the facts, but you have some.

A guess doesn't need any info other than the parameters of the guess.

So if I put both hands behind my back and tell you I a have a candy in one & nothing in the other & you can have the candy if you can guess which hand it's in--you have parameters, but no info on which to base your answer beyond that--however you could estimate the likelihood that I'm lying based on my past behaviour.
Have I proven myself trustworthy or not in the past, am I known for kidding?

But I do see the overlap--and so yes they can be redundant in some contexts--but in others one or the other is appropriate.

I work for a company, small, where 3/4 are family.
They all say:
"Do you know what I mean?"
At the end of every ********** sentence!!

I feel like yelling:
"Yes, I know what you mean. Are you that ******* stupid to not be able to articulate your conversation in a manner that other people can comprehend!??"
