To sticker or not to sticker?

Thanks for the input.

I care about the bass, but it's worth nothing. Here's a pic:

I was thinking of just one sticker up above the bridge close to the area where your forearm usually rests on the contour there.

Nothing too tacky...something along these lines:

Geez. I don't see the "plain jane" thing at all with that bass.

If you're bored though, you could try (or just have someone photoshop it to see what it would look like) a different pickguard -- maybe tort or black.

I wouldn't put a sticker on that one though -- pure old school goodness.

I think in general stickers look better on beat-to-hell basses.

Also, see if you can find something that you like on ebay which is a "cling" and not a sticker. That way you can remove it easily with no residue if you "come to your senses." :p j/k

Maybe I'm just tired as hell...such a minor thing, really, and easily removed if I got sick of it.

I generally think it's not my thing, but I dunno....

Hate stickers, but to each their own. At a certain point, the adhesives may damage the finish. Use at your own risk.

Well, I appreciate that. It is just a cheap knockoff (though it really is exceptional in sound and playability.)

I actually do like the white guard, but I've thought about tort...

Anyways, as I said, I sure wasn't planning to coat it completely in stickers; just put a nice one on it somewhere. I may not do it...really, it's not an earthshaking issue...

Put the sticker on but pick something very cool and that reflects yourself........or just do it with your look........and hey your bass is part of your look. I put a sex wax sticker on my 98 alembic " mr. zogs original sex wax never spoils the best for your stick "......however my 69-p-bass may just stay without. whatever.

If you want them, put them on. Don't delay, don't hesitate. It is your bass and you should be able to do whatever you want. To me, who cares about resale value, etc., instruments are to be played and enjoyed not museum pieces. If stickers are one outlet for your self/team expression, go for it as, to me, that is the primary purpose playing the bass in a band vs. another instrument or another type or arts/sports.....I can think of a lot of professional and admired bassist, guitarists, drummers, etc who have decorated their instruments..........

It's definitely something I'd never do and and, having seen your bass, I'd say it's absolutely beautiful and stickers would detract from it. But that's just my personal opinion.

If *you* want to do it, if you don't care about any potential negative effects such as reduced re-sale value, if doing it would have special meaning to you or your band or either's image on stage, etc., then go for it. It's your bass.

I think a black or brown tort guard would look awesome on that bass and really wake it up! But put a sticker on the PG if you really have to have one. You'll notice the stickers will start to fade away, esp where you put your hands on the bass, so they won't look as great a few months after you do it.
Here's a bass I found in the dumpster...lotsa stickers...

FOUND IN A DUMPSTER? Oh man, tell me that story, conditon, what you had to do, sounding. To me, thats an excellent find! Good for you.
