Tom Waits

all of the tom waits interviews on letterman are hilarious. thee are a few on youtube. i think i already mentioned it in this thread, but if you havnt seen "coffee and cigarettes" i recomend it, not just fr the tom waist appearnce, but it is hilarious as a whole.
 
I saw Tom Waitts at the Montreal Jazz Fest back in the late 70's. there was a single mic in the middle of the stage with a blue spotlight shining directly over it. The stage was bare except for an upright bass player. He started walking a line as Tom Waits slowly sauntered across the stage. Waits was wearing a baggy suit with a fedora. He stood at mic with his side to the audience and lit up a cigarette. He sang nothing but smoked that cig in the shadow of the light to the walking bass line. The crowd went crazy.

He whole band, that night, consisted of upright bass and sax. It was incredible.
