You think? Idk. Maybe a metal version.
That's what he did with the song When Doves Cry; it had bass in it originally, but then he took it out:

Years ago, a band I was in, had a great lead singer that could do Sinatra and Tom Jones like nobody else, but he had this thing going on where he would just refuse to do certain songs. We went back and forth until one weekend, his sister came into town and saw a couple of gigs. She mentioned how well the audience reacted to some tunes and he commented how much he hated them. Basically, her response saved the band. She said, just sing the freaking songs that the people want to hear and screw your ego driven agenda of what you will and don't want to sing. We kicked butt for a few years after that. He's dead now. Diabetes took him out. But he really changed after his sister set him straight.Ugh. Passive aggressive behavior is a pet peeve of mine. It’s an instrument. Just enjoy playing it and be thankful you’re in a position to do so. I agree White Stripes suck and are over rated but people like it. If it’s a hobby just try have fun with it and if it’s a paid gig do your job. I’m our band leader and I do stuff I think is dumb all the time. My band wanted to do a Smiths cover that was horrible. I played the heck out of that cover and made it our own. Honestly when I hate something I just take that negative energy and make positive out of it. Life’s too short to care about 3 1/2 minutes if my life.
Play bass on it. Make it not suck.
I wouldn't know. The only thing I've ever heard of them is the documentary "it might get loud"IMO that is hard with the White Stripes.
I stand dejected that I hadda be corrected - once again Mr. Seagrams let me down.
"Fell in Love with a Girl" re-derranged with fonk-stylee bass:
Beyond that(the vitriolic hatred as opposed to just indifference), I was amazed at how many hadn’t even heard them; they only emerged, what, over 20 years ago? But not surprising as so many around here seem to be stuck in the 70’s or whatever. I say this with 60 way in the rearview mirror…I wasn’t knocked out by them, but they were interesting, quirky, and most important, different, using familiar elements. While the Raconteurs and The Dead Weather did more for me(along with some of his solo stuff), I totally respect how White has given back to the music community with his label and other activities, plus giving Loretta Lynn one last shot. In IMGL, Page seems to connect with him better, and it looks like he had more fun jamming with White, making The Edge the three’s a crowd guy.So much hate for the White Stripes! SMH

Seven Nation Army always went down well in the bars I played?Just wait until somebody brings up Greta Van Fleet...
Musicians hating music is always a good time.
