Snap on. Now you struck a nerve. I refuse to buy strap on.(that's what they use on me) Nothing like waiting 3 weeks for a screwdriver and then they only change the blade and give you your old handle back. For the price they should give me a massage with it. I like S-K and craftsman pro series. At least if I break it I can go get one the same day if I need it. And they replace the WHOLE tool.

Of those, Makita, no contest.

Bosch is what I buy most often. Cordless tools, corded hammer-drill, orbital sander. planer.

I had a chance to use the Bosch, and DeWalt sliding, compound miter saws, side by side the other day. Bosch wins by far. Easier to use, and it slides farther back, so the blade doesn't lift and destroy, small, thin stuff.

Reciprocating saw: Milwaukee. One time, I ran my 110V model on 220V, no smoke, no damage, it just cut fast. If I had to replace it, I might go Bosch.

Worm drive saw: Skill If I had to replace it, I might go Bosch.
Worm drive panel saw: Porter Cable.

Router Porter Cable

Finish nailer: Hitachi
Framing nailer: Porter Cable (if I used it more often, I would splash out for the Hitachi)
Brad Nailer: Senco

Pliers: Knipex Twenty times better than Channel Lock, for only three times the price.

I buy good tools, because I use them to make a living. If I was a college boy, doing occasional projects, I'd buy a lot of Ryobi.

Dewalt mostly because of reliability. I have this 8 y/o Dewalt 18v (on its last leg) that has been through hell, on its second set of batteries!, though they are dying fast. Lot of excellent tools on the market now, some better then DeWalt but they are a dependable brand to buy. I remodel for a living, I dont like suprises.

Porter Cable for skillsaw, though mine just died, 8 y/o also.

My boss had both Dewalt and Makita and there was a reason the Dewalt tools sat in the trailer while the Makitas didn't. They were just that much better. For myself, I love Hitachi tools, amazing quality and fit my hands just perfect. If I was buying tools for a business, it would be Hitachi, with Makita skill saws (the good ones).
