Toronto GTG!

Hey all,

The Rehearsal space for the 27th is now booked.

33 Villiers , Room 4(http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...6GyqkcYXO6b-oHuSjeX_hw&cbp=12,152.29,,0,-0.58), 2pm Mar 27 for 3 hours. The total cost of the room rental is $55.

Bring your amps as well as basses. There should be enough power for all the equipment.

Hey Fajah, are you going to ask your guitarist and drummer to sit in again? They were very welcome additions!

I'm thinking of doing something a bit different this time around as an experiment. The problem with having a live drummer and guitar player there (like we did the last time) is that they want to jam the whole time, and really don't feel like sitting around while we "talk bass". Don't get me wrong, my buddies had a great time but I got a sense that at times, they were a bit bored. So here's what I'd like to do.

I'm going to bring my guitar (like I did the last time) and loop station. I can easily lay down some tunes for us to jam to. The loop station will be the drums and guitar. I will also run my mp3 player through it where I have jam tracks that I've record with just drums and guitar.....no bass.

What do you think?

It is certainly worth a try. Exposure to new ways of doing things is always an asset.

If anyone wants to jump on the drums live, it is there.

Hey Hook, maybe your son would want to come to beat on the drums for a bit.

Well folks, we're 2 days away from our Bass GTG #2.

Rollcall....

I'm in for Saturday. I won't bring my amp gear, but I will bring my 3 basses for people to try out. I've printed Fajah's fake book, but alas time has been minimal for me to learn much of anything lately. House renovations are still going and other things have absorbed my free time. But I'll get in there and participate.

I also found my camera tripod, so now I don't have to hold the video camera, I can set it up in a corner and join in.

I'll be bringing pretty much the same stuff as the last time. Two basses, guitar, amp, one cab this time, my pedalboard (with loop station), ....and my Fajah Fake Book.
