Catalina is a 74 square mile island approximately 26 miles off the coast of Los Angles. It's topography and climate are very similar to the Greek Mediterranean islands. Here we are approaching the Two Harbors Isthmus, the second largest settlement on the island. In the summer time, Two Harbor's population can exceed 3000 with mostly campers and boaters.

When landing at Catalina's, "Airport In The Sky" you definitely want to bring your "A" game with you. Some say it is like landing on an aircraft carrier as there are 1000 foot cliffs at each end of the runway. There have been times when my palms get clammy landing here during heavy crosswinds. That said, it is a great place to visit.
