I gotta ask...what is it?
That is what a stainless steel weld looks like before it is polished. The shielding gas we use (argon) prevents oxidation of the weld as it cools, and the result is a rainbow of colors. It’s possible to see blues, purples, reds, and golds, depending on how it was welded.
